Any one rig one up for the R1200R? Photos? How-to?
BTW, my bike went into BMW for free winter storage today because it took all summer for my dealer to return my re-keyed top case to me after I traded up from the F800 in June.

If I understand your question: No I have never rigged a topcase lock to fit my ignition key. I bought the BMW topcase at a rally and it came with two keys. When I use the topcase I just take one of the two keys with me.

No - you would be the first (in the history of this message board) to add accent "floorshow" lighting to a BMW Roadster.
By all means post some pics for us of the result.

BMW would
never think of adding LED ground lighting to its bikes.
Check out page 28 of
this October 2010 release from BMW on the upcoming K 1600 GT/L:
LED additional headlamp and ground lighting as a special equipment feature ex works.
For even further increased light efficiency, BMW Motorrad offers additional LED headlamps for the K 1600 GT and K 1600 GTL which are mounted at the side below the fairing (K 1600 GTL special equipment feature ex works; available for both models as a special accessory). In addition to improved illumination of the road, the combination of xenon headlamp and LED additional headlamps also gives the K 1600 models a distinctive, unmistakable front view at night. Another highlight is the ground lighting, available as a special accessory. When the remote control is activated for central locking (option) and the ignition key is removed, the lights remain on for a certain period of time.
I'm a sucker for LEDs, but a little go a long way.

Seems that BMW is unashamed about direct appeal to the GoldWing crowd with new K1600s.
See any similarity between the K1600 LEDs shown above, and the Wing Bling below?

I think its a good Idea specially for being conspicuous on the side....
but like with everything else it just depend of how you do it.
If Its for showing off or make your bike look like Divine in John Water movie's
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2YVRu09 ... re=related I would not do it for me...
But for example:
1) I would not spit on a small strob under the bike turning on only when bike is parked in the dark...
2) I would not complain of an intense blue spot somewhere on the front of my jacket as there is no regulation about what type of lightning the rider must or must not have on his clothing or helmet..at least in California as far as I know.
(It's sad to have to write that but a fearful car driver is usually a good or better driver)
3) I would not be annoyed at all by one or few thin strip of light running from front to rear on each side of my bike set to turn on automatically at night.
