Corbin Seat // BMW Rear Rack

Post by mogu83 »

I'm no big fan of rear racks, I've bought one for every new bike I bought (OEM Stuff) and after a month or so it was banished to the dark confines of the attic over my garage. Maybe not so with the Roadster.
I put on a Corbin Seat (no problems and I like it) but the rear section of the seat always seemed too fat and out of place on the bike.

I'm planning on using a top box (something I really never liked) for trips so I decided to go for the BMW Rear Rack.
I was pleasantly surprised when I found that the BMW rack perfectly compliments the Corbin seat. They line up perfectly and will provide a level platform for hauling stuff.

Just thought someone might be interested.

Nope not interested  , I kid you. It looks good, I am in the market for a rack, too. I bought the small trunk and I think it will work well.

I also did not want the rear rack on my bike when I purchased it, but I discovered I missed the extra capability of the top box (a safe place to put the helmet, cell phone, digital camera) while I am away from the bike on touring trips.

I paid the $310 for the rack (why does this bike have two separate luggage rack connections?) and then bought the top box.

Your rack and Corbin seat combination looks great!

Makes for very clean lines...you can never get too many level spots to haul stuff :D

I agree. I want to keep my Roadster looking "raw" when I take the windshield off. But, sometimes that rear rack would give me the flexibility of my previous GS. I'm trying to hold out and just use the side racks. With my addition of a Sargent seat, I may soon be following your footsteps. Your bike looks good! =D>

Their are some aftermarket racks out there (Givi,Hepco Becker, etc) - but if you have the BMW bags your stuck with the Beemer rack. Although We all know that if you try hard enough anything will fit. I'm fairly frugal (PC form of cheap) and I think the money for the Beemer rack was well spent.
