Few questions:

1) Is anyone tried to pair this wiREVO HSH200 Bluetooth Stereo Headset http://www.a2dp.info/wiREVO-Headsets/wi ... adset.html with an Iphone4 running IOS4.2 ? it also seems possible to jack the module in any other type of Headset as it is possible for example with the less recent Jabra BT3030 listed belowhttp://www.google.com/images?hl=en&expI ... 8&bih=1074

2) Is anyone know any other Bluetooth module for headset with jack female plug?
in order to be able to use any high quality noise isolator headset that wasn't Bluetooth in first place.

3) Or eventually if anyone know something like this type of device http://www.plantronics.com/north_americ ... dsets/k100with a Jack output for headset instead of using the speaker... (not sure if this solution would really work anyway)

What! and all this is for when you are riding? no way!

Its just a high quality headset and a bluetooth bridge so that way you don't "hang yourself" to your tankbag.
I saw much more wired and complex setup in my rider life

Where is the problem at asking questions
related to GPS voice guidance & Bluetooth headset on a motorcycle forum?

I am way over 40 and just trying to find a reliable way to avoid the insane $450 of a Schuberth C3 SRC system or a bulky scala module attached to my helmet at all time.

US is cool because they have "return policy" in there stores....so ! well! lets "abuse" of it to improve the market old school way.

If its not working I will jump to that and see how it feels to be well wired http://www.etymotic.com/ephp/er6i.aspx maybe with also with a Jabra BT3030 or a WIREVO-HSH200-

And if I find one or two other friends to negotiate a group order for these http://www.fc-moto.de/epages/fcm.sf/en_ ... ystem-0001 it might drop their price close to $300 all tax included instead of the outrageous $450 that US dealers are desperately asking for it.

If the groupbuy doesn't pan out, take a look at the Etymotic 6i > BT3030 combo. I use them with Navigator IV. There's no mic in that mix, but music is about the only distraction my brain can handle while motoring. My only complaint are that the earbuds on the 6is tear after a month or so, and they aren't cheap to replace. With many of its products Etymotic began a Custom•Fit program in July. I might try it out. And they do worldwide shipping.

Don is using the Etymotic in the setup that you described...I knew that I read something about the Etymotic custom fit program...Yeah ! I might end up testing all of them methodically while enjoying my Return Policy privileges AT WILL !

But anyway a custom fit Etymotic is kind of something to have I think whatever if you'r on the ride, airplane or just bored somewhere....someone on this forum wrote that custom fit isn't always a solution in term of isolation because the ear shape change constantly. I have custom earplug and can't do without but I remember the shock I had the first time I tried them...could not believe it how everything was quiet...it still works very well I think but have the feeling that not as well as the first times... might just be a "psychosomatic" stuff as well

It's a BMW GPS device — but really it's a Garmin Zumo 660 with a BMW logo and fancy-shmancy OEM mount with hard buttons (The buttons don't work with a regular zumo 660.)

The 6is and BT3030 sound great with the iPhone 4's Bluetooth stereo streaming, but it's difficult to advance tracks on a phone in your pocket. I ended up putting mp3s on a microSD card and popping that card in the Navi IV. You can switch albums/tracks with the mount's hard buttons.

Geebers....one of the reasons I like riding my bike is to get AWAY from all that elctronic stuff. Got an Iphone in my tank bag or pocket and I check it when I stop. We have a friend who has all that stuff on his bike and I can't tell you how many times we've watched him just about kill himself while playing with all that stuff while riding.

Our bikes are full of electronic under the gas tank by the way....

Gezerbike, I never ride without my custom earplugs, a fleeced windproof/waterproof balaclava and my Schuberth C3.... trust me its quiet like a gothic cathedral in there!
Technology improve safety & comfort on motorcycle but it all depends of which technology we talk about and I am sure you will agree that the R1200R is a positive example of this.... Cheers!

This conversation started about getting the best gears configuration possible to privilege the excellent voice guidance of an Iphone GPS application named Navigon.... precisely in order to forget the visual informations from the GPS screen and STAY FOCUSED on the road.

So ! you right it was all about forgetting "elctronic stuff"


This afternoon I visited Schuberth USA in Aliso Viejo, CA and got a good demo & testing of the SRC system with an Iphone4....All I have to say is that if I find a way to skim +/- $150 from the US price I will buy one...its a really good stuff.

Hay I'm all for IT but what happened to pulling over and looking at the map in the map pocket of the tank bag. It also doubled as stretching your legs and having a break. Not to mention asking for directions and meeting new people. I suppose with all this elec stuff you just power on through. Seems to take the romance out of it. How do you stay focused on riding with all this talking to you! Oh well each to there own.

Oh! yes! and I remember the good old time were riders didn't want to wear helmets...total romance breaker they were saying! not enough wild wide ride...

I don't really like to listen music or talk while riding... however listening accurate and understandable GPS instructions I think can save you'r life in many urban context... nothing less annoying than to be lost at slow speed with a 300 pounds motorcycle around Sunset blvd for example.

On top of that eventually you add a bit of music at moderate sound level or initiate clear calls when parked under a tree without removing you'r helmet and I'll call it progress.

As far as meeting peoples... you know there is tons of other opportunities every day for all of us.

No but its true... a good multi-layered balaclava, custom earplugs & C3 Helmet this is extremely comfortable and perfect for focusing... remains now to get good voice guidance and eventually music and phone calls in safe context.

An SRC system tuned to a control tower for motorcycle riders would be the solution! providing all kind of services from forwarding phone calls to GPS voice guidance. In addition some of our forum lifer's to provide mechanical assistance while riding and spin some good tunes as well !

Yo ! Most Def ! + True that !...and I am not even a "tech geek"...just not systematically conservative about it.

Actually a big fan of a GPS. I have a 2610 mounted permanently to 1100 GS and will take the Nuvi with me on the 1200 R, but they are not for giving me directions..I usually know where I'm going. It is more a tool for exploring new roads in areas that I am passing thru. I have Roads and Recreation loaded onto a flash card for the 2610 and it gives great detail to backroads. City Nav programs don't really have that. And R & R doesn't support voice directions. I'll see a road coming up on the map that looks intreging and I'll take it. Can't tell how many neat places I have found. But building a map set and following voice directions just ins't me. Alot of the times the pace is slow enough that I'll take the ear plugs out and just enjoy the natural sounds and sights. I like to sum up my travels as this....in a car, you pass thru your enviroment..windows up, air conditioning on, radio going. On a bike, you become part of your enviroment..the smells, sounds and sights of what you are riding thru. The comments above about stopping and talking to people are right on. When my oldest son was 12, we took a 1,000 mile trip up the Mississippi River Great River Road on my 91 KRS. He thought it was so cool how people came up to us everywhere we stopped, just to talk. I'll never forget that trip.

Actually I agree with Gezer. In my limited experience riding a motorcycle I've noticed the enjoyment of becoming one with the machine decreases with every extra thing you put on it that requires your attention.
Take a single cylinder motorcycle equipped with a speedo,tach headlight and taillight out for a spin on a spring day and see what riding a bike is all about. (I've been told)

If a motorcycle owner actually NEEDS all that extra stuff to enjoy the ride maybe he should consider an automobile.

Considering the inefficiency of public transportation and obsolescence of higways/freeways networks in Los Angeles or most US major city's any car owners should think to just recycle their cars for their gardens to grow cooking herbs in it and work from home!....particularly if they are mentally completely stuck with the usual romantic or ostentatious consumerist model of motorcycle riding in America.... Dah ! Vroom vroom... !

I hear what you're saying, Harry, but didn't you have a GPS on your R1200R at this year's Square Root Rally?

Like WiFi, TiVo or the T.V. remote, GPS makes life a little easier. That some devices play music is a cherry on top. When I'm cruising Maryland horse country to some Creedence, I meld with the R12R even more — probably that elusive Freude am Fahren that BMW marketing loves so much.

Do I need a music-playing GPS? Of course not. But I defy you to suit up, turn on "Sweet Hitchhiker" and stay under the speed limit. (Not that you need any encouragement to speed. )

I actually ripped that GPS off the bike ----------------------------and replaced it with a GPS that has a MP3 player in it. But I don't need it.
I have four other bikes that are without all the bling that the Beemer has on it and when I want to take a basic recreational motorcycle ride I just roll one out, then I can give my entire (limited) attention to riding a motorcycle. I usually only ride the Beemer when I have to.
The thought of someone actually getting a phone call while riding a bike is - well amusing. How important does a person have to be to require being 'in touch' that much. I guess that's why I do most of my riding alone.
