Those are the BMW accessory cylinder head guards. Get them from your BMW dealer or online from some other BMW dealer.

Well of course. I've been looking Twisted Throttle, BMWOA, Touratech, etc. I'm an idot.

Just remember that those "guards" are for zero speed tip-overs only. The are absolutely no protection for anything else.

Okay, I'll buy that. So what's a good head protector for.... "greater than zero mph" tipovers?

I'll have to disagree - I've tested them twice, and so far - they've done a fine job (first time about 20MPH, second time 5MPH into rocks..) I did have to use a bit of black-bumper-dye to touch them up..

FWIW, if you happen to crash-test the SW-Motech's you can use the "liquid electrical tape" in black to fill in the damage to the powder coat. Works fine, and is a dead match to the finish.
One other major benefit they have is that they make a great foot rest or highway pegs when you need to stretch out
