I have 5686 miles on my 09 R 12. Starting up for the 20 mile jaunt to work and I notice a brief thing on the display that says 600 miles service??? I have all the fluids purchased and a very qualified BMW mechanic to assist me with the 6000 miles service. Fluids, valve adjustment, every thing listed. Does this mean I need to take to dealer to scan codes?? No check engine light, I'm perplexed.

Sounds like the normal service-due indicator. You'll need a dealer or a GS-911 diagnostic tool to clear it.

"Service" warnings can only be reset by the dealership, or buy this little gadget call GS-911 and then you can reset the "service" warnings yourself, by the way that little gadget let's you do a lot more stuff on the bike. I'm buying one as soon as I can.
