Did I not see in the owner's manual on my 2011 R1220R that "current MPG" is one of the items shown
as you scroll through the information screens?
I only see Avg MPH, Avg MPG, Miles to empty and Temp.... Is that right?

If you reset the "average mileage" while you're moving, you'll get a sort-of instant mpg reading at that point, which will degrade into "average" as the minutes pass.

I noticed the same thing, dealer said it's a mistake in the owners manual. The icon that is shown in the owners manual is not there on the 2011 r1200r to show current MPG...it only has average.

I had what looked like the exact same instrument cluster on my 2007 F800ST and it did show point-in-time consumption. I suspect they don't want us seeing what a pig this bike is in city traffic.
