BMW R1200R R1150R/T F800 K1200R R1100R/T R1250R RnineT Message Board

Has anyone heard of or experienced any quality problems with this slip-on, including clearance or heat issues with the BMW panniers? I think it looks the best with the R, but is it the build quality of Leo Vince or Akrapovic? Aren't they all about the same loudness with the silencers? I'm ready to buy but need some input first.

I had one on my K1200S. Beautiful pipe. No quality issues and the sound is great. I doubt that it will foul the bags. Remus makes a ton of these.

I first installed the Remus slip-on about a year ago and was pleased with the style, sound, and lighter weight compared to the stock silencer. Then recently I decided to splurge for the Remus headers to complete the system. The headers are amazing as the engine purrs and I like the sound even better than with the new silencer and OEM headers. So, if finances allow, I would strongly encourage the full system. If I could only purchase one component, I would opt for the headers over the silencer. Good luck!

Thanks for your responses. It was difficult to choose, but I ended up with the Leo Vince due to better pricing.

I am interested in getting the full Remus system for my 1150R. Where is the best place to purchase this?

Spot-on. The headers make a much bigger difference, and not just in sound but performance as well.

Do I have to buy a power commander to help optimize the performance of the header, given I already have the K&N and the slip on (I ended up buying Leo Vince instead of Remus) or will BMW's fuel management system accommodate it?

I believe it will run fine but it would run even better with a dyno tuned PCV+AT. There are plenty of threads over at ADVriders re: the subject if you can't find a better answer here.

That's interesting. I searched using the word "commander" (in the title line) and came up with 28 hits. The forum "g spot-oil cooled" is for all things BMW GS related.
