I just ordered a new R1200R Classic...my 1st Beemer ever

As the subject says I just ordered a new Beemer and it arrives on the 1st March. I've had quite a few bikes starting when I was 16, so it's taken me a while to take the plunge. I just saw the bike and fell in love with it's purposeful looks and after a test ride that was it, I had to have one.
I found this site by accident and have spent a few days trawling through it to feed my new addiction....so I'll be joining and contributing soon, its a great resource

Congrats on the purchase. You will love this bike.
BTW, if coming off a inline-4 this engine will seem a little course during the break-in period...but it gets smoother with time.

I part exchanged my yamaha xjr 1300 for it but I also have a ducati st4s which I am also keeping...I guess the boxer will be similar but smoother than the ducati

Welcome aboard. Yet another test ride victem!
+1 with bmorehead. These machines take about 6,000 miles to run in but then they are like silk.

Can't wait for Wednesday....I spoke to the dealer yesterday and asked what tyres were fitted to the bike and apparently they are Metzelers, so I hope they are as good as the Bridgestones on my old bike. I also asked them to fit a mudslinger to the rear of the bike....they told me they sell lots of them and highly rate them.
I'll have to figure out how to mount my Tomtom Rider 2 so that it looks neater than just sitting on top of a ram mount, which is how it fitted to my XJR and how it fits on my Ducati.
Very Impressed with the dealer so far, who are Allan Jeffries in Yorkshire.... I went with them rather than the local dealer coz they did an awesome deal on p/ex for my XJR....almost £500 better than other dealers.
I'll dust my camera off on Wednesday when it arrives so I can get some 0 miles shots of lovely chrome exhausts lol
Then its off out to turn them blue around Northumberland
Can't wait for my europe trip in early June

Add me to the list of those who bought an R without a test ride. I knew on seeing it that it was the perfect bike for me, and boy was I right!

Well, I've been toying with a BMW for years and have blown hot and cold over them in that time. However, I've now taken the plunge and placed an order for a Red Apple Metallic R1200R and take delivery in April. Just in the process of finalising some advance farkling.

Welcome to the club, brother! I predict you will be delighted beyond your expectations, as I was. And the farkeling just goes on forever...

Is it "Beemer" or "Beamer"?

Beemer for motorcycles. Bimmer for cars, or so I hear.

Seems like a nice day for it. Not too hot, not too cold, no wind and no rain.
Enjoy!
