BMW R1200R R1150R/T F800 K1200R R1100R/T R1250R RnineT Message Board

Hi folks

Just bought some lovely Rizoma naked radial mirrors as they're being discontinued so got a reasonable deal. However the rizoma mirror adapter kit BS711A doesn't work on my 09 R1200R as the bolt threads for the adapter kit don't match the bolt thread on the R1200R mirror mount.

Can anyone tell me what the thread size is on the R1200R mirror mount, or if someone else has these mirrors, what adapter kit did you order?

And before I get jumped on, yes, I did search, but I could only find threads about GS mirrors where the thread is the same :-)

thanks for the pointer, but unfortunately that thread didn't help. Lots of pictures and discussion of bar end bolts, and how to fit F800GS mirrors but nothing on the R1200R mirror thread size. I need that so i can tell the dealer what I have so he can suggest the correct Rizoma mirror adapter.

From my '09 repair manual:

Mirrors, covers, ashtrays, stowage compartments
Mirror to clamping piece: M10 x 1.25, left-hand thread - 22 Nm
Clamping piece to clamping block: M10 - 25 Nm

Brendan,

The clutch/brake lever bases have a 10mm x 1.5m pitch and the adapters that thread into the bases both have a 10mm left-hand 1.25 mm thread in the upper part that the mirrors thread into.

dealer got back to me today with the correct adapter kit. BS787B for anyone who is interested. Thanks for all your help everyone, would still be thrashing around without you. :-)
