Was wondering if any mods can be done to stock shocks on a 97 r850r, have adjusted rear all the way and still seems like it hits way too hard over bumps( actually doesn't seem to make much diff where I adjust it) and if not any suggestions for a new one, bike has just over 49k on it. Thanks for any input. Mike

I didn't realize they could be rebuilt, will look around to see, do you know who rebuilds them offhand?CycleRob is going to pull the trans and lube the splines , thought it would be a good time to do something with the shocks kind of a old bike to put that kind of money in , but she runs sweet and I am growing fond of her. Thanks

I can give you details of a couple of companies here in the UK but none in the US I'm afraid

Mike,

suggest you search the forum. Has been discussed previously. There are shops in Europe and in the US of A who rebuild shocks and even change the springs. Actually if your shocks might feel very hard it maybe that you need a different spring.

Thanks for the reply, I have searched the forum just seeing if anyone has in new input. I am thinking the the spring is too soft and bottoming out, will get a friend to help hold the bike and check the return rate after compressing them . Probably try the Hagons if needed.Have a good day. Mike

If they are not leaking get the springs fitted from Hyperpro. They are progessive springs and they really make the bike so much more comfy. No problems on bad roads now .
