Lots of us.
The R1150GS handguards fit very easily - with a small modification to the RHS one - you need to cut away a bit of material on the inner part of the guard to allow the brake line passage - it's obvious when you face them up.

The GS ones are good made for the bike (nearly) BMW quality and looks.
They require a bit of modifying to fit an look the part when fitted. RR

Ditto! They fit well, look good, and best of all they work like a charm. Highly recommend.

$50 well spent
due to time constraints using the almight wire tie for the right one but will do proper mods shortly.
Thanks all!!

Had them on.....took them off. Thought they made the bike look a bit "goofy" although they do, "do what it says on the tin"

I actually prefer the look of the handguards on my Rock. Gives it a more urban look I guess. I took them off for the summer, thinking the breeze would be nice with mesh gloves, but I put them right back on.
That's why they make chocolate and vanilla, right?
Me too!

I'm with "Yahoo", as I prefer the look with the Brush Guards on too, which is lucky, 'cause I can't be ars*d to take them off in the spring.

Yahoo : Are you the lucky sap that won the lime green Rockster that was getting your bike serviced at Bloodworth BMW Nashville when I bought mine .
The same one who's grandmaw says it looks like it ought to have a name like kermit the frog.
I've love mine so far. Going to ride Tail of the Dragon next week.
Go Vols beat UAB ! !
P.S. Handguards look cool but doesn't it trap your hands from waving at fellow bikers , little kids and pretty girls?

I tried a set of R1150Gs handguards on mine, and didnt like the look. They are available for 45.00 shipping included to lower 48 US states if anyone wants them, I will give board members first chance before they go on Ebay.

You wound up buying that day? That's terrific, I noticed it was gone the next time I was there and I wondered if you took it home...good for you! Welcome to our little corner of the web, too. When you headed to my side of the state? I might could find the time to run the Dragon with you (twist my arm!). UAB...please. Good excuse to tailgate, though!

Hi all,
I'm considering this modification myself, but I'm affraid that the 'look' will not be as charming...
Could you provide a picture with the handgaurds on the bike?
Many thanks!

Either you love 'em or you hate 'em. I love 'em for what they do more than how they look. You get used to them and they do look better with the cases on the bike.

Like the look, what's the part number?

I noticed that you can buy either the "1150GS Complete Set" for $60 or the "Hand Shell Piece" (left or right) for $25 each. Which do I order, and what's the difference?

The set has the (IMO) cheesy brackets you need to attach the handguards. If you have the time, equipment and inclination you can fab something nicer. If not you need the set.

Thank you Nakigara for the pic of the bike with the guards...I'm on the 'they look great' side of the debate...so will start shopping for a set...the picture helped.

I used the guards from a 650GS instead. $45, same as the others, but they have a more angular look that I think matches the line of the nose on the bike. They even have a square notch that rests perfectly on the clutch and brake reservoir covers. I heated them to get them to warp around just right and then used black silicone sealant to stick them down on the covers. I can get in when I want but everything stays put till I do.

When I recently took out the 650 GS as a loaner bike I was wondering if the handguards would fit the 1150. I would love to see a picture of how they look on your bike. Do you have any you could post?
