Last Sunday I decided to take ride to the Rock Store (Malibu CAI) to scrub in my new tires. Going up Malibu Canyon Road, I came to a motorcycle inspection being run by LACo Sheriff motor officers. With my roadster sporting a windshield, bags and me in day-glow ATGAT, they just waved me past!

I rode with an older guy on an RT a few years ago, he told me that any time he gets pulled over for speeding, the first thing he does is take his helmet off so the officer can see his full head of white hair. Oh yea, he was a lawyer. lol.

It's the only advantage to being a grey beard that I have found.

Motorcycle cop pulled a kid on a sport bike with a very loud exhaust in a low gear turning high rpms.
I was motoring past on the Roadster in 6th. gear, actually passing him, with screen, panniers, and ATG.
Stock exhaust was barely audible. Surprised the cop ignored me. I was going faster than the kid.

No grey hair yet (I am 55). With all the squids on loud sport bikes and Mohawk helmets up there, it does not take they long to find their prey. The CHP guy on Mulholland usually just waives at me.

Haha excellent! Ive noticed this phenomenon on the 1150 as well. More than once i've rolled up on a speed trap on my way to work rollin 80+..not even so much as a glance at the radar.
On one occasion, The Midnight blue Corvette I had just passed earlier...well, he didnt have the same luck.
I have people give me hell because I leave my cases on all the time, they say: "looks like youre always on vacation" well I think it makes the R's look alot more docile than they are and probably makes the officers eye move away from it. Plus, you can fit a mountain of stuff in them.
