All;

Has anyone out there removed their exhaust from the header back to the stock muffler? Im looking to ceramic coat mine but didnt know if there was any kind of gaskets or pre-work short of liquid-wrenching the manifold bolts to loosen..I dont want to unscrew the pipes and find I have a gasket and or other replacement parts to buy once it has been removed...Anyone with experience to offer here?

I've pulled mine a time or two just for giggles and grins. It's not difficult. I would suggest squirting a shot or two of Liquid Wrench (or something similar) on the two bolts that hold the pipes to the heads. There is no gasket that I remember. I might be wrong, it's been years since I pulled mine. Loosen everything below--clamp that holds the headers together and to the cat as well. I'd recommend putting bike on centerstand and using a strap between front wheel and center bar on centerstand so you don't pull the bike off the stand when you sit in front of the bike pulling on the headers. Pull evenly on the two headers and work them back and forth since they are interconnected behind the wheel. Good luck!

just had the same thing done at dealer. there are two oval gaskets necessary, some use the old ones, i replaced . i got "glacier black" ceramic coating. it looks great, or at least better than the crappy look before.
