Hello,
I am looking at purchasing a 04 BMW R1150R with 65500kms, 2 owner bike which has heated grips, abs, bags, windscreen. The owner says the clutch was done and regular servicing. Is there anything in particular I should be concerned with? The price is 6000.00 cdn dollars. Thanks for any help.

ditto on clutch records. AND first thing, flush clutch fluid to make sure it doesn't gunk up slave cylinder and take another clutch out. new clutch etc is $1600 job at dealer's. just had my '03 r1150r done.

Don't know exchange rate, but for USD I think that's a little high. Look at the slave cylinder---in front of the rear shock, get a flashlight. and be sure it's not leaking as that is $$$. Also, 65500 kms for a clutch is early, unless there were "clutch spline" issues. Be sure that's not the case.

Hey Kingsar, are you looking at a blue R1150R in South Surrey? I have the same bike, with 23K miles and had to replaced the input shaft and clutch this past fall. I put in a new Touratech ceramic clutch, it last longer and it's actually a bit thicker than the OEM clutch so it reduces the risk of having problems with the splines.

Kingsar... Just noticed this post so this may be a little late but I agree with the Dr. I bought a 2004 in July of 2013 with 5400 miles for US $5600. One owner, same accessories. If you haven't purchased it yet you may want to negotiate a bit.

i'd restate my former statement about a clutch flush. best thing to do with an older 1150 is PROACTIVELY put new slave cylinder in. small job, small cost. will save lots of money later, for sure and it's pretty easy to do.
