My three year old iPod finally started giving me charging problems so I bought a brand new U2 special addition color screen 20Gig model.

Less than a week later, I see this.

This iPod Nano is very cool. 3.5" x 1.6" x .27" thick
It is also 1.5 oz compared to the 5.9 oz of my 20Gig

I never liked the shuffle because I listen to audiobooks and don't want to shuffle the chapters, but this Nano will be very cool once they get a larger capacity.

Edit. Hmmm....apparently the iPod Mini is no more, and being replaced by this Nano.

Okay, that is *really* slick.

I saw that earlier today, and now I am drooling. I am debating between the shuffle and nano for use while riding on long trips.

The only drawback about the shuffle is that it only shuffles. You can't play stuff in order.

~200$ for 2GB Nano

Blows the Shuffle from any consideration.

I want one!!!

biff, the shuffle was never a great item. i like to pick my songs.

Scott, I figured that I could load it up with 10 songs, and that would last well over 3 hours. I have 1 Grateful Dead disk, that has 2 tracks and is over 75 minutes long.

But, It would be nice to be able to pick the songs, so I will probably do the nano here sometime.

Like the ipods? You should try the computers. Kick Ass.

This does tend to make one a bit crazy, but it sure beats technology going in the other direction.

If it helps, and I know it doesn't, I bought my first personal computer in 1984. It was the "Fat Mac." 512 K, with no hard drive, and about $3000.00. I also bought an Apple laser printer for $4500.00. Six months later I updated my Mac for a couple of dollars less than $1,000. I now had a full meg of RAM, more than the school districts main frame computer.

then yes, a shuffle will be fine. So would any flash memory player for under a $100.

You know you CAN change the batteries in your I POD, I just read an article on it in one of the mobile computing magazines. I was reading it because I have an older Dell DJ model that's starting to give me charging woes.

On the iPod Shuffle, you can play the songs one after the other in addition to the random play mode. I'm not a gadget geek, so I don't really care one way or the other. The Shuffle is small and light. I have about 15-hours worth of songs on it (1-GIG version). Plenty enough to keep me entertained on long rides.

I did know that. I could have sent it to Apple and had it changed for $100 too, but I took the opportunity to get the newer version.

I didn't know the shuffle would play in order. What a deceiving name. Sure enough though, a review of the web site showed the truth.

That is not a drawback. I like the spontaneity of the shuffle. Who needs predictability!

Not that I own one mind you. But I did buy one for each of my daughters. And they are very cool for the coin.

I was wrong. As fnfalmaha points out, there is an option to play in order. The product name is decieving.

you bet the name is deceiving...I tried to eat one of 'dem apples, and it tasted AWFUL!

My wife bought me one of those BMW mp3 watches last year for our anniversary. I use it almost every day. I do wish it had a display though. And also, it's kind of weird having a headphone cord running up your arm. I like it alot!
