Happy to report I'm home safe. 1.3 grueling miles thru torrentially good weather. The traffic was intimidating. Still looking for Bob......he was last seen with some red headed floozy.

Left Staunton this morning to head to church with my wife. Just got home after lunch. Thanks to all who showed up - much gratitude for you being such good people, every one of you. Thanks Wayne for organizing. The food was delicious, and a huge shout out to Frontline Eurosports in Salem, VA for the great BBQ and the raffle prizes.

I got home yesterday afternoon. The fuel pump didn't fail. Yeah! It was good to see everyone and sorry that I didn't get to say goodbye to everyone. I rode about 120 of 360 miles in the rain. I also did more slab than I wanted to, but I didn't want to be in banjo country if the fuel pump decided to quit.

Juvy and I pushed through all day today via slab. We went thru Knoxville and Chattanooga to avoid the traffic from the mountans in Georgia heading back home down 76 and 515. We got a little rain outside of Knoxville and then 10 miles from home it began to rain on us. Not too wet though. Just pulled in about 5:30. 9 1/2 hours stopping only for fuel and snacks and water from the cooler. She now qualifies as an honorary Iron Butt.

For those of you who didn't hear me, I left at 04:45 and rode south on VA-252 to VA-39. I only had light rain for the first 10 minutes, but I did get to enjoy some thick fog in the dark. Cool. It was great to see everyone!

Rusty and I made it back to Nashville a couple of hours ago. We when through a couple of small rain showers, but otherwise it was uneventful. Had a great time and I'm looking forward to next years bash....

I made it back to Columbus just after 4pm. Got wet and dried out at least 5 times. Several fun days of ridding. Nice to see everyone. Plan to attend next years Bash. Thanks to Wayne for hosting.

First, I'd like to add that the rainsuit door prize card was given to me by yjleesvrr, the actual winner, in appreciation for my instructional guidance and problem solving on this board and he said because he already had a (quality) rainsuit. Knowing my friend Beemeridian would use such a rainsuit 200--300 times more than I would, I ReGifted it to him. So, Thank You again Yong Lee.

After the 3 day Bash was over I got onto I-81 a few miles out from our HoJo Motel this morning and I felt a naturally generated smile of satisfaction, in that on our multi group rides . . . nobody "went down" or "into the woods". The somewhat risky and most rewarding ride was the ones DStamp and I had when we got ahead of the group a couple times when the road got REALLY twisty and hilly. There was some speed , RPMs', throttle twisting and a LOT of deep lean angles involved, this time with enough restraint (like I promised) so there were no controlled rear wheel power slides or controlled 2 wheel corner drifts . . . on MY bike anyway. It still amazes me (and that is saying something!) what an R1200GS can do with an experienced/talented rider. Those lengthy sections of corkscrew roadways puts the Tail-of-the-Dragon to shame. Daryl, You-Da-Man!

Everybody had a really good time in that we met our on-line friends again -or- for the first time, for good rides, good eats, a few beers and lots of talking and laughing at all hours. After Saturday's ride, 4 of our of the OilHead riders got their throttle bodies accurately synched with my green water manometer under the front door entrance Pick-up/Drop-off canopy. There was no cooling fan, because we didn't have one and I could do it quick enough so it was not needed. It had a Pit Stop quality to it but it was resonably quiet and not disruptive because they were BMW bikes and BMW riders.

The "everybody" group shots at the very generous Frontline Eurosports evening BBQ that were taken with my camera will be cropped and uploaded soon for all to see.

I got home, exhausted, at 7:20pm. In the entire 487 mile trip there was only one creepy-crawler traffic back-up at 33 miles from my home on I-85. The GPS said my moving average was 62 MPH for 8Hrs13Min. My friendly next door neighbor, a Gainesville cop, rushed over and helped unload my bike when he saw my wife Ann assisting me.

I'm still smiling . . and I bet a lot of the attendees are too.

Another good Bash in the books and a large turnout! Thanks Wayne and Bob for the good work. I knew the roads were good when you announced the location though!

Vince and I left after breakfast to ride 252 over to Lexington and I circled downtown some trying to find it. We eventually did and it was a very worthwhile ride! We rode on to Natural Bridge, taking 130 and 501, squeezing some more mountain rides in before Vince had to part for the flatlands of Raleigh. Split up at Danville and he beat me home by about 3 hours! Almost 400 miles home and no rain!

Good to see the old friends and the new folks were a welcome addition. Nice to see recent new attendees coming back for another go! We must be doing something right!

Another great Bash as usual. Thanks Wayne. It was good to see the familiar faces and some new ones. I'm already looking forward to next years.

John.... sorry to hear about your mishap. Heal up quick. Maybe we'll catch up at the Half Bash.

Regarding the rain suit door prize........ my son Mike was there original winner of the suit and then told Wayne to have another number drawn since he already had a rain suit that worked well for him. Glad to see that it went to someone who needs it. Kudos to all who passed it along.
