Hi guys I'm not sure if I'm barking up the wrong tree but I've seen other BMW's of a similar age to my 1999 R1100R that had a heated seat and I was wondering if there is an aftermarket way of achieving this or if it was even an option on the R model. Can you help?

A Google search brought up a number of aftermarket options and some DIY YouTube videos. I doubt you'll find a R1100R seat all ready to go, but rather have to modify one.

A sheepskin cover will provide some warmth and not nearly as expensive as a heated seat. But yes, there are available electrical options out there.

Just warm it up before you sit on it. it will stay warm.

But really, Iv'e not found that to be an issue. Id get heated gloves or socks before anything. or maybe helmet. I'm warm in the inner regions, annoyingly so.
I rarely use the heated grips even, I wear thick gloves, and alternate them in the 1150's oil coolers
Id be interested to see what you can come up with for a bum-warmer.
