I am looking for a good cool weather jacket for my riding mate. She wants something that looks nice but will keep her plenty warm in the fall and spring rides into the Georgia/NC/Tennessee mountains. She pretty much throws up when she sees a 'bitch on the back' of a harley dressed in slut-wear. She likes sexy, just not with leather fringed chaps (to wear on the bike, that is)!! Any ideas? Be nice to hear from the ladies on this...

Don, take a look at Rev'It - they've been around for a while in Europe and started selling in the US in the last couple of years. I've seen the stuff up close and it is superb quality gear. Very nice Mens' and Womens' collections - jackets, pants, gloves, Leather, textile. If I didn't have so much invested in BMW gear I'd go with Rev'It in a heartbeat. Priced VERY competitively.

Olympia also makes really nice stuff for women. Not as many bells and whistles as BMW or Rev;It, but it looks good and is well made. Also, the owners are a husband/wife team. Priced REALLY competitively.

River Road is great stuff at a great price - and for a functional jacket thats not just bling, go with the First Gear Kilimanjaro. Best functioning jacket around...and they make them in mens or womens sizing.

You have received some good suggestions, so I feel obliged to make a smart a** comment. I saw a Harley women rider wearing pink leather chaps the other day with a pink leather jacket! Stunning look!

I picked up a Joe Rocket for my wife. Looking at it now there is no model name or number on it (that helps!!!)

It has 3 layers (from the inside out, all removable):
- inner waterproof liner
- mesh jacket with elbow, back & shoulder armour
- outer layer for additional water repellancy and wind break

She loves it and can add or remove layers based on weather.
Just the mesh, mesh and outer or mesh and water liner.

Plenty of pockets and adjusting straps/snaps and a zip in/out in knap-sack to carry it, or other items in.

Another vote for the Aerostich (in our case the Darien). Not the most fashionable, but I know she is wearing one of the safest available if s**t happens.

Another vote for Aerostitch and I'll second the Roadcrafter jacket. Dariens are great if they fit, but for me it was too bulky due to the length. Dariens come in one length & Roadcrafters in 3. Although I'm on the tall side I wear a "short" in the jacket and a "long" in the pants. My only complaint is that I chose a completely unfashionable color because I didn't want to clash with my Ascot Green bike. But they have many options

And I think there are womens sizing at the bottom of the size chart.

The only problem I have with it is it is too short. I should have gotten the 3/4 length version. But it does look pretty cool...and it is really weather proof, with lots of vents that will take me through all but about 3 months of the year.

Any recommendations on where to shop in the Atlanta area??

I have a white leather Fieldsheer for my wife - the white leather is very conspicuous from the rear of the bike, as would be a high-vix Roadcrafter.

How about a BMW Rallye jacket? They are great - don't know how the women's sizing runs though.

I bought my daughter an Arlen Ness jacket and matching trousers in leather. See picture below. I don't know if they're available in the USA but they look really proper, don't they?

Hey Don - I have a BMW Savanna II jacket that I LOVE - actually like it as much as the Santiago or the Rallye. If you look around, you may be able to find one on deep discount or on Ebay, since they have been replaced in the BMW lineup by the Santiago/
