Hi,
BMW r1150r, rpm "lag" at constant rpm.
The problem is certain that it is due to emission limits. The problem can easily be solved by removing a fuse. But which one?

Talked to a friend who had complained about the problem repeatedly after buying the bike. When he was traveling in Austria, he drove into the BMW workshop. They removed a fuse, that's all they did.
Which fuse?
Cheers :-)

That brings to mind a common issue years past on pre "twin-spark" models. US models-2003 and earlier. We called it "surging". Throttle slightly surging up and back ever so slightly at rpm's below 3000 roughly. I think it was emissions related from what I remember. One common fix which worked for me was to run Autolite spark plugs, 3922 or 3923. I ran the 3923P (platinum). I could not tell you the technical reasons it worked. It just did. Another thing I remember was removing the CAT Code Plug. Here is a link to some info. Read it thoroughly as there can be some consequences to removing the Cat Code plug. Cat refers to the catalytic converter. The plug itself (looks like a square relay) is a method of fuel/emissions system programming.

Just FYI, I have a 02 and when I purchased, it had some surging issues. I replaced the plugs with the Autolites and the surging went away. Super simple.
