Read the skinny at the other K forum, but wondered about you guys.
Rich, Kevin, etc how many miles on your skins? Have you replaced yet? What do you think of the probable recommended replacements?
I see good for Michelin Pilots (Road or the other one)
I see just okay for Metzler (Z6 and M1).
I see little about Avon, Bridgestone (some negative).
I've got a set of M1 closeouts for next spring if/when I wear these Z6's that came stock. BTW, At just under 3K miles I have 5/32 front and back tread.

Dean, Thanks...I am looking at the Roads although I've always been a Bridgestone kind of guy (my first motorcycle was a Bridgestone GTR350 2 stroke with a roatary cam).
Since I got the M1's at a stellar closeout price, I will run them hard and see what life they yield. Many folks from the KRS did not care for them as much as the Pilot series: Sport, Roads, Power.

Tire life and replacement
In my case I have almost 9,000 miles on my K1200R. I will change the front tire (ME Z6) for the first time this weekend. The rear tire will be replaced for the third time. First time ME Z6 OEM tire was replaced at 5,400 miles with an Avon tire which at almost 3,600 miles is down to the wear marks. Anyway the replacement tires for both rear and front will be Conti Roadattack and thereafter I might try Pirelli Strada. As of now I think the Metzler Z6 did the best job on my bike in both wet and dry conditions.

Conti's
RB,
I like the Z6 that came OEM with mine. In summer riding it was at least as reliable as the Bridgestones I have favored. In wet, hey, I don't remember being in the wet with this baby yet!
I am hearing a good deal of favorable opinion about the Conti's lately. Still inexpensive M1 Sportec are worth 3-4K of use.
Thanks for the inputs.
