Hey all-

Looking to finally upgrade my Rockster...only upgrade so far is Sargent seat...a must by the way.

Exaust and suspension are next, questions:

1) For me, Remus is forgone conclusion. Question, carbon or titanium? How much difference in "real-world" pricing between the two?

2) Suspension...Ohlihns or Bitubo? How much per each have you guys seen for front and rear installed?

Bitubo just came on my radar at last visit to the shop, no past experience with Bitubo...looks very quality, no idea how much.

Oh, and I finally test rode a 1200s...holy S$%&. Never thought BMW would build a bike like that...still would trade my Rockster for one...if my ship comes in, may own both.

Don't know much about exhausts but have done a little research on suspension, although I'd think a carbon fiber should look real nice on a Rockster.

You should also consider Wilber's and Works Performance. From what I've read, they're both excellent quality and significantly less expensive than either Ohlins or Bitubo.

I think the carbon fiber matches the look of the bike. Here's what mine looks like if you're interested.

Whilst doing some research on this topic I came across Maxmoto in San Fran Cisco. They quoted me a price of us$1645 for a pair of bitubo shocks fitted in the SF bay area. Pitty I am in Australia. Might be worth a look though. Prices in Australia were about au$3000 for the same package.

I have ridden a friends' MV750 with Bitubo shock fittted. Nice piece of kit!!

Good luck.

In the UK the Ti and CF Remus cans cost the same amount.

I have a set of Bitubos on mine, that I purchased for a reasonable price from a friend on this board and they have been absolutely wonderful.......they have rebound, compression and preload adjustment front and rear, and they look good too.

No, I didn't pay $1645..........

Titanium will not degrade in sunlight/is not brittle/is not as passe as carbon IMHO. Also looks the dogs!! RR
