Okay................I've decided that my next possible modification to my Rock is to change something in the handlebars, either adding a riser or possibly just adjusting the angle..........

Now that I'm 40, I've noticed that after riding regularly, and longer distances, my right hip-joint becomes sore, due to the angle of my upper leg to my torso being too "acute". I'm 6'3" with long legs, and I already have peg-lowering stuff mounted, so I think that I need to get my body "set back" to relax the angle of my hips.

I would like to know if anyone has tweaked the handlebars to give them a little height ( tilted forward?) , or if there is a set of bar risers that are less than 1" and have no staggered set-back that fit our Rockster? I want to keep the look of the bars as they sit as best as possible I've thought about R1150R bars, but I still like the wide look and feel of the Rock Bars. any input?

I think that Wunderlich makes various risers and doodads for you to fudge around with your handlebar on the Rock.

ok, here's an offshoot question. My brother and I were talking and we came to the idea it would be nice to have a regular set of r1150r bars for touring sometimes. the look of risers is just not good for me. i was wondering if i bought the bar and an extra set of grips and controls if you could basically unplug and unbolt one and reverse to put on the others? if so, would it be fairly easy and fast to do?

IMHO....No...besides..."if i bought the bar and an extra set of grips and controls"...would cost heaps and it'd be soooo much easier to just slip in a barback type riser.

i went over it at the dealer and you are right. i'm going to just get a barback riser for trips.

what is the difference in rise and setback for a stock set of r1150r bars compared to a rockster? anyone know offhand?

The Rockster bar is flatter,lower,straighter and a little wider.

I don't know exactlly...but I'd guess at about an inch wider..maybe an inch lower...and about an inch straighter.

The first thing I did, being over 40 by a good distance, was to swap my Rockster bars for the regular Roadster bars. I just made the swap part of the negotiation when buying my Rock. Have never been sorry.

i think i am going to try the barbacks first. one of those links someone posted has them for 40$. i i want i can just use them on trips and remove them for racing!

Installed and have been riding with Moto Techniques 1" riser ( no offset) on my rockster the last week or so. I like them a lot!! The position is only slightly different, and the stability in the corners is better than stock, because of the angle of the leverage is changed. I can get behind the bars a little more, kinda like superMoto.... ( I wish )

No problems.

You should be prepared to cut a couple of cable-ties and replace a bit further out on the bars, check there's still slack at each lock and you'll be fine.
