Radial Tires On An Airhead Bike

Need to replace the tires on my '82 R65LS, the local independent shop I go to, recommended going to Metzeler Roadtec 01 and stop using the Lazertec Me33-ME99 tires I've been using for decades .
Anyone have any experience with radial tires on an airhead bike ??

Had the Metzeler radials installed this week, put about 100 miles on them today, perfect weather 74 F clear and sunny !!!
So far quite pleased with them, get to test them in wet conditions next week, showers forecast for Tuesday through Friday .

I always used Bridgestone BT45 on my R100. A great tyre - great grip and very good longevity. On my R60, I changed to Michelin Pilot Activ but I haven't had a chance to try them yet.
