New Bike In The Garage

Last weekend I swapped bikes with my wife so I could see what my new Motolights look like to other drivers, they are fantastic BTW. When we got home she said if I wanted to trade her F650CS in on something else she would love to have my bike. I thought about it really hard and have worked up a deal, tomorrow I pick up the new bike. It is a 2005 Black R1150r ABS. She thinks I am getting something new and going to give her my R (WRONG). She won't know the new bike is hers until they bring it around from the shop with a big red bow on it and the sales tag has her name on it. She is going to Freak Out

I have to remember to bring the camera and a clean handkerchief.

Whoa, Jim! You're making the rest of us look bad. Now I feel like a heel, giving the faithful '02 R1150R to the Mrs. and buying a Rockster for myself!
So, guess I should ask: when's the 1st Annual His & Hers R1150R Couples Weekend?
Mark
Oregon
'01 R1100R - soon for sale
'02 R1150R - ever faithful
'04 R1150R Rockster Edition 80 - riding it home this weekend!
(oh, and there's a Buell in there somewhere)

I am so excited for your wife. I am in her shoes. My Husband and I just purchased my R 1150 R. It was quite a new experience. We had only seen pictures and spoke with the seller. We bought it sight unseen...Then had it shipped. It arrived in perfect condition and was
everything the seller said it was and more.
The weather here in the Pacific NW is cold and grey and raining so I have only 50 miles on the bike so far and I am in love. many miles to be gained this summer.

Thanks. I have some getting used to the responsiveness and superb cornering. I am impressed with how 'effortless' riding the new bike is.
I found myself moving much faster than it felt. No comparison to previous years of riding.... I sold off my HD low rider last spring.
I like everything about the new bike but the seat....sort of moves me forward and pushes on my tailbone...may need custom saddle.[/b]

Just-Beeming - welcome to the asylum!

The Roadster is easily custom fitted with seats, barbacks and all manner of aftermarket goodies. The board has cost me untold amounts of $$ by giving me ideas of things to do to my bike!
And we really need to hear how this turned out! Where is the report? And pictures of the happy wife with bike!?

Things went even better than I had hoped for. We got to the dealer about 8:30 this morning and they said they had the bike in the back if we wanted to take a look at it. When we went into the shop area there sat a new R1200ST and she was sure it was mine. Then we walked past it and there was her Roadster. I said well what do you think and she just gave me a funny look then she realized what was going on. I only wish I had my camera ready when she realized she was looking at her new bike. We have been together for 32 years and married for 28 of them and this was one of the best days. She is so happy with her new bike and is excited about the 06 East Coast Bash. Here is a picture of her new ride.
