Hi all,
I've been reading this board for a year or so and finally registered:) Great site by the way. Anyway, I'm from Pensacola, Florida and have been riding my Rock since 2004. I also have a 1971 75/5 in the garage, I love boxers.
The Rockster is my tried and true daily rider (I don't own a car) rain or shine. I've gone distance on her, best ride was the Blue Ridge Pkwy on a weekday and I've gotten a bit of twistie time in Tennessee.
The Rockster I own has been blackened out except for the rims, I like the green:)
Please feel free to correct any posting errors I may make, my computer skills are kind of weak. For instance, Is it customary to disable HTML?[/img]

Bad time for me to read your post, since I'm in NJ and haven't been on the bike in 3 months for one reason or another and you guys in the south and CA riding all the time, but good for you.

I have an 03 rock and since I like to go long distances (Key West, NC, St Louis) I needed to make some changes on my rock so as not to paralize myself. I put roadster bars on and lowered the pegs so I can sit a litttle more upright, and put a Sargents seat on. Now that I have it broken in, I can get 200+ miles per tank and with these changes, I can fuel up and get right back on with no problem.

I smacked it up this Sept and as part of the fixing, I am taking off the muffler and adding a full sized bag on the left side. Just in time, since my #2 son just informed me that he is moving out to Flagstaff and I fully intend to head out there a few times a per on the rock.

So happy riding/reading.

I was up there in Jersey last October in Middletown visiting my sister. I was freaking cold until I crossed into Virginia:)

What can I say, I like black bikes. The valve covers will be getting a shot a black soon and I'm debating painting out the rims, she will kinda look like a wingless Stealth Bomber :D

This was a custom job at Bob's BMW... If I didn't have an Ed. 80 "Special Edition", I'd black out mine in a heartbeat...

Nice. I 'll go matte black for the valve covers myself, maybe it will cover up the gouges from dumping her last year :D

Hi Tony, Your Rockster looks great. Is the bike in the stock Matt Black, or are some bits gloss / satin? Thanks Nick

Nick,
All Matte, I used 8 coats of "Bumper guard", prepped the surfaces with Bulldog. I took some rocks off a gravel truck last week and no dings.
