Another new owner

Hi All ,
Just sold my 1998 R1200c and bought brand new 2005 Rockster . ( I guess it is a rockster ) I have been trying to find a similar color rockster on the web but no sucess My bike is matt black with silver strips on it ). My over all impersion about my new bike is positive , but when it comes to dual riding . I guess my r1200c was more confortable with a passenger . It is like a bit too much two person on rockster . Or maybe i feel this way because my bike is just so new ( 300KM) only and engine still need to get used to . Should you advise me anything shal be carefull with the new bike I would appreciate.

Congratulations you have the weather to enjoy your new toy. What colour is your bike does it have ABS might it be an edition 80???? Keep an eye on the oil level,some use a bit at first. You will get lots of help if required on this site. Have FUN . RR

Congrats and welcome...your bike is not an edition 80...but the new color...Black with silver stripes...very nice...I've only seen a couple of pics of that color...You'll have to post a pic of it for us.

you should find the R1150R a good two up bike, just remember to adjust the preload so the rear does not sag.

yes this is excatly my bike , i have ABS( integrated ) alarm and imobilazer,heated handgrips , and helmet lock system but I guess these are standard options with my bike . Because it is new I am not much pushing the engine as per the manual it says not to exceed 4000rpm first 1000km and I hope it will start egtting faster after firts 1000. Kuwait is a great location for biking . you can ride almost 10 months a year but not in july august as it reaches to 55C. and about 40 after midnight. ( a bit hot here) but the rest of the year in partuculary in winter it is lovley . Long and large higways , but a small country you can reach the Iraqi border from the saudi border with 1-1,5 hours so if you missed the next exit you are in Baghdat.
thanks for the warm welcome and I shall ask your expert ideas when ever I need know something about the new toy. Here in Kuwait there is a large expat community and a large bmw rider group , we are meeting every friday morning having group breakfast and riding arroud which is great fun . any how I iwll keep checking my messages and keep visiting the web page .

I almost don't notice the missus on the back, to be honest. Pre-load untouched - and I am 100kg or 220 of your Hamerican pounds

Don't be too gentle with the bike, they tend to do better if you're a bit "rougher" with them during running in.

I still have not had first service to reposition the pistons and it goes great. Warm up, ride normally, don't overrev before parking up.
Check oil regularly and use the centre stand....
I have 2300km on the thing now, BMW say first service 1000km but my dealer says that it's better to loosen the engine more and he suggested aim for 3000km service (which I can't get until May sometime so it'll be 3500km).
Sitting and listening to it, it sounds like a tractor. But who wants to remain stationary?!?
On load, it sounds smoother than a thingy's thingy
