Riding near Kansas City

Is there anyone on this board from the area around Kansas City?

I may have a chance to relocate to that area and I was wondering what the quality of roads are like?

If Deals Gap is a ten on the twisty scale, what would the roads in this area be like?

I live on Fort Leavenworth, KS. IMO the roads on the Kansas side seem better than on the Missouri side. If you poke around you can find some twisties, especially out in the country. There are wide open spaces to ride here, and the traffic is minimal. More hills on the Missouri side heading east. I typically ride from March through November and then based on temps in December - February. We don't get much snow, but ice and low temps are the Winter hazards. Lots of wind here too. That stuff about Dorothy and Oz - no exageration. BTW, Engles is the local dealer - they are in Kansas City, MO. I bought my bike there - and have had no complaints about their service etc.

I live just outside of KC on the east side about 25 miles from Kansas/Missouri state line. I think it is a toss up on which has
better roads. As far as twisties go South MIssouri has quite a lot.
This year the longest I went without at least a short ride (25-50)
is maybe a month, but this year was exceptional.

Thanks for the replies. This is a major factor to consider.
