Thick as a Grip

I'm looking for a way to increase the diameter of the heated grips on my Roadster. Anybody using any kind of grip cover or material to make the grips fatter?

I've got some foam wraps that velcro on top of the stock grips to increase the diamter. Amazingly you can still feel the heat through them. I am not crazy about them, but they help. I don't remember the manufacturer.

I've had the wrap arounds with velcro closures but didn't care for them.
The grip puppies were tough to get on - I turned them inside out, soaped them up with a dish soap mix, tugged and pushed for a half hour - but they finally went on. They do exactly what I wanted - increased grip diameter and allow me to still feel the heat!

I recently installed some grip covers from
Grip-Tek. The size I got was GCM 4.25, and they come in a bag of 6 for $15. I've been pretty happy with them. They reduce the throttle effort quite a bit, which was my main goal. A side effect, which is a bit of a minus in the Phoenix summer heat, is that these covers are warmer than the stock grips. I can't say whether they do anything for handlebar vibes, as I haven't been on any longer trips since I installed them.

Phil - I got the small grip puppies (but the others look great too!).
I usually ride with gloves but, IMO, in unusual circumstances that I ride without gloves, the OEM handgrips are plain uncomfortable (and leave grooves in my palms/fingers.)
I think I'd do this real soon for any BMW I purchased. Inexpensive and makes a big difference. Bob

I ride with gloves, too. That's the reason I want fatter grips. The gloves seem to create a lot of effort for my fingers to wrap around the grips... I end up with sore forearms after 90 minutes or so of riding. If I ride without gloves, there's no problem. I'm hoping that fatter grips will solve the problem.

Sounds like a change of gloves would be an easier option. Or you could try some leather restore to soften them a bit. Saddel soap works as well.

That's what I thought, too. I just haven't been able to find any gloves that work better.
