If this turns into a great ride, we'll move this there.

New2,

I like it fine. Have run both with and without visor. Visor is ok up to 80, but watch out for head checks!

The ride is too sweet this trip.

Isn't that a dirt bike helmet...it also looks like the one that they used in Long Way Round???

DJ,

Combo helmet from Arai. The ADV Rider style for both street and dirt.

The head shape is between Quantum and Signet shapes. So one definitely needs to go to a proper dealer for trying on and walking around (up to an hour of silly looking...). If the head fits, then the funny crossover design is not a bother. I spent over a year trying on Arai at the dealer, waiting for that good fit. XD nailed it for me. Some complain the compromise shape doesn't fit well at all. You know, small minded riders!

I like the extra chin and face room from the elongated front. I also like the dual purpose face sheild and visor. Except, as I told New2, the visor catches wind and flips your head once sppeds are above 80 mph and if you turn slightly or lift your head too much. Not neck breaking, but a good jolt sometimes.

Mike,
I'm glad you are enjoying the ride. Some more pics would be nice.

DJ;
Mike is right about the helmet. Very comfy for me,, great visibility, excellent venting and the chin room, like Mike wrote, is an added bonus.

In rain and cold their is very little foging due to the vents. This is the main reason I picked this helmet, but it turns out I like all the other features. In fact, I doubt that I will buy anything but Arai in the future. Their helmets are that good. (Of course they don't make a modular or half helmet if you are in to those.)

I take the visor off for any extended rides, but i use it every day for my Toyko City commuting. The sun block is a great feature for commuting.
