Front Fender extender - what is available?

Anyone uses this fender extender?

I bought one at the dealer. I believe I paid $35 USD for it. It does help keep garbage from collecting on the front of the engine, and it doesn't look to bad. This looks like the one I bought.

What I had intended to do, and looks much cleaner, was to install the LT front fender. It will fit with a little modification and looks better because it's not a bolt-on. There might be pictures here somewhere if you search.

Yes the rear half of the BMW LT front fender will fit...you just need to swap over that speedo cable eyelet thingie.

I don't remember the specifics, but it seems to me that the bikes with the braided steel break lines had an interference with the LT fender. I installed the LT fender on my 2002 which has regular hydraulic lines with no interference issues. I did have some challenges removing one of the screws holding the original fender on. I stripped the head of one screw while trying to remove it. I had to litterally cut the original fender off around the screw and then use vise grips on the screw to remove it. Anyway, the using the LT fender has a cleaner look, but it is more cost and work. I guess the German blood in me just has to do it the hard way.

i think the deal on this is: if you have ABS then it is a direct swap, if you have non-ABS then a small amount of customization is in order. at least with the newer braided steel lines.
if you want to keep 100% of the crud off, you still may need some fender extension. i dont have any extension, just the LT fender and it does a fair job of keeping the stuff off.
