Anyone use a draggin denim jacket or a Cortech DSX denim with armour? I like denim jackets here in phoenix for those none 100% days....leathers for december...........

I'm trying to find a new set of jackets and pant for two that are great protection, but not too hot for warm days. Any advice?

Thanks

I have a Draggin jacket..I haven't worn it much..I don't have the armour in I but could do it.

After my fall I'm very impressed with the Draggin kevlar material.

The jacket has full length kevlar down the arms..and the whole back area.

The studs or buttons up the front are a little fiddly...I would not call it a real summer jacket because the air can not flow through like a mesh or vented jacket.

Mine jacket is like the guy in this pic is wearing but black in color like the girl is wearing.

It's hot here in Alabama (and humid to boot) much of the year - it was 96 degrees with 94% humidity today (slightly cooler than the past few days!). It would be almost impossible to ride without mesh gear. At least for me, I see a lot of guys in T-shirts here, but I'm a big sissy.

That's one reason I shy away from the Draggin' jacket - I find armor a great comfort - no pun intended.

My hot weather gear is:
Below the waist -
Draggin jeans (mostly when I ride with the local H-D guys - read that slow), or
First Gear Air 2 mesh pants.

Above the waist -
First Gear Leather - Tex mesh jacket (leather in shoulders, elbows, etc with armor on back, elbows and shoulders - inside and out), or
Power Trip mesh with armor at back, elbows and shoulders.

The power trip is more conservative looking and has LARGE mesh that flows more air. But the protection is obviously less. I'd also say the First Gear looks better quality.

Perforated leather would be "better" protection, of course, but it appears to be hotter and is definitly more expensive.

All armor can be upgraded to CE approved.

Oh yeah, Olympia mesh gloves.

That is an acceptable compromise for me, but, as they say YMMV.

Just today, my new Joe Rocket Alter Ego jacket came in. I'm uber-excited about it!

It has a full outer shell with a removable mid-section by way of zipper. This then leaves a full mesh body with the shoulders and elbows still wrapped up. It includes dual density padding for the shoulders, elbows, and back. Also included is a removable waterproof liner.

I haven't seen the Dragon, but I bought the Icon Strongarm.
Vented at the shoulders,
leather sleeves,
removabale liner.
Armored elbows and padded shoulders,
Perfect for mid-season days.

I have Draggin jeans, but they shrunk in the wash. ( I need to loose some weight!!)
I wear a BMW Savana 2 jacket mostly all the time. Liner in for the winter, vents open for the summer.
If real cold, I wear my DriRider jacket with liner-a lot warmer than the BMW one.

Take a look at http://www.hoodjeans.co.uk/

I have the jeans and they are great for warm weather riding, the woven kevlar let a nice breeze through. They ship

I love the draggin jeans in summer and I bought an Olympia AST jacket and it the best all round jacket I've had in thirty years; or maybe its the R1150R that makes everything soo good. OK it's the combination!
