A hole in the rear wheel!

Having just had a new rear tyre fitted, I notice that the hole in the centre of the wheel has no plug or bung in it. The result is that road muck and weather got into the hub and caused me some difficulty in getting the wheel off.
I can remedy this with wire wool & copper grease, but should there be a rubber bung or plug to keep the weather out?

If you like the one Keith Haynes makes, you can contact him through the website and he does sell to the US. I got one from him a few months ago and am very pleased with it. He was very nice to "talk" to via email, very frinedly and was in contact until I got the cap in the mail which only took a 4 or 5 days, not bad postal time from half way around the world. The cap is very nice and comes with the O rings you need to fit the R. Install took about 2 minutes and it only took that long because I couldnt find my rubber mallet to tap it in the final littl bit. Since then it has traveled many miles and is still with me. I had a new rear tire put on last week and it survived being taken out and put back in by the hack changing the tire. I am happy with it and the price.

It's clear what I need... but I don't follow the bit about Keith Haynes! Is he the name behind one of the two web links above?

He is the one that makes the center cap for the rear wheel, and is also a member of this db.
