I'm getting ready to replace tires and was wondering if anyone had used and likes the contiroadattacks? My friend who has them on an fz1 raves about them. Any comments would be appreciated.

When I had the GPZ1100 Kawasaki, I tried the road attacks. Didn't like them, at least on that bike. They handled a little strange. Initial turn in was hesitant, but after leaning so far, the bike would "fall" into the turn. Not very neutral handling. Unfortunately i sold the bike shortly after putting them on. Therefore I can't tell you first hand how well they would last. I hear folks are getting good mileage from them. I won't try them again.

I tried them on my RT, having been very pleased with Avon Azaro's, & am very impressed, with 2,500 miles thus far. Handle well, wet or dry (& we do quite a good line in "wet" here ) & a very comfortable ride. Here in the UK they are 2/3rds the price of Metzeler & Bridgestones, neither of which I personally like. My 1150R will have a set when serviced in mid-September.

My friend has these on his K1200 RS. He likes them, they're inexpensive and apparently very popular in Europe. I'm not to crazy about the thread design, especially the front wheel, the pattern looks a bit odd, like not very well engineered. My 2 cents.

I have them on my rock and they are fine.

They give me every bit of grip I call for.

As good as Metz Z6 or Diablo Stradas, but half the life time.

Fitted to my '04 R1150R about 1,500 miles ago. Very impressed with them in all weathers. Really composed when i've gone into a few bends too hot!! Prefer these to the Dunlops I had on before and will most likely replace these with the same. Also, on the F800S launch the bike I tried was fitted with SportAttacks and it's fair to say I gave the bike a good work out and these tires were incredible! I say give 'em a go!

I've got about 10,000 miles on a pair of Conti Road Attacks on my Rockster. The rear needs replacement but the front will last another 2000 maybe.

I'm happy with them and just ordered a new Road Attack for the rear.

Interesting . . . Maybe I will give them another try on the Rockster. Different tires work better or worse on different bikes.

I have 4k miles on my Conti's and I like them as well as the mich pilot roads that I used to buy before I had to boycott them because of the 2005 F1 US grandprix that I attended and 2/3's of the cars didn't race because michelin couldn't provide a safe tire............ruined a very expensive weekend....anyway.... the conti's are wearing well. I should get at least 6k miles out of them and the ride and handling are up to par. Also I noticed that BMW has been using the road attacks as an oem fitment on several models..........Continental tires are also german made.

Wow - I killed a rear RoadAttack in under 3000 miles, in winter.

heard that mineral spirits will remove wax residue from black trim parts on our bikes, anyone know if thats true. If not could someone suggest something to clean the trim parts. At first it wasn't so bad but the wax has accumulated and it looks terrible.

Not my personal experience, re the Z6's. The Conti looks set to go a lot further than the 4,000 I got out of the Z6's. I have no personal experience of the Stradas, although I respect Pirelli as a manufacturer. I am well aware that there are so many variables in tyre wear, including the construction of the local roads. Some are much more abrasive than others. With my riding style, on the roads I habitually ride on, Metzeler have given me least mileage.

my metzlers seem fine with mileage...other tires i've had have had their life ended by punctures...my metzlers have faired the best against punctures.

PLUS, the Z6s are by far the best tire i've experienced on our bike.
