Ok Guys...here's the next two days (day 3 and 4) of my trip.

Sorry I don't seem to be able to make my pictures appear without using a link to them.

Starting with an early start to the day with a view of the sun coming up viewed from the balcony of the pub in Tumit.

http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pN1mp8 ... J2zIQbgczM

We were five minutes into our ride looking for some little back road and we came across a dead-end and going round in circles before finding the right road.

http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pN1mp8 ... iUPgoI8hs8

A farmer looking after cows on the road showed us the right way to go...the cows looked like they didn't know what was going on with all these bikes passing them.

http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pN1mp8 ... uVYsP100bg

Bugger!...the nice little road turned to dirt..a bit dusty but nice and smooth.

http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pN1mp8 ... mkTdYM5-v0

Waa-Hoo!...back on the black stuff...that dirt wasn't so bad...look at that perfect weather.

http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pN1mp8 ... cj-B5M5uhM

http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pN1mp8 ... oFcrXP23aY

The nice smooth black stuff didn't last long before we were back on the dirt..and I tried to keep out of Twigs dust.

http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pN1mp8 ... PWsh06VtW4

Guy was way ahead on the GS and Twig waved me past..and maybe felt he was slowing me down..or felt bad to be making me eat his dust.

http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pN1mp8 ... EXzj5yOixM

One lesson learned here...don't use a handle bar mounted camera when it's dusty..the lens was stuck half in half out...I missed some great pics...we finally got to the end of the dirt road..stopped here for cold drink..I got my toothbrush out and tried to fix my camera...it worked..it still sounds rough when the lens goes in and out but it works...and look at my nice clean bike.

http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pN1mp8 ... IPp9qnQqcs

While having our drinks this tractor rolled up..looking like it was ready to race in 'Death race 2000'..anyone remember that movie..I think it's used to pick up hay bails.

http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pN1mp8 ... WyMgI32p9Q

Just up the road we crossed this little bridge.

http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pN1mp8 ... P4W4KeeI2M

Not much water flowing under it is there.

http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pN1mp8 ... 5RySHOHFx0

Back on the road again...and heading for a town called Yass.

http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pN1mp8 ... hX5AR3eyQA

http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pN1mp8 ... lObJDXJTLM

We stopped the stretch the legs and use the toilet.

http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pN1mp8 ... nmjwY8bSoQ

While we were stopped in this little country town look what whizzed past.

http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pN1mp8 ... -AOnKgJtsQ

We had a short section of main Hwy from Yass to Goulburn...the home of the big Merino.

http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pN1mp8 ... XRySpqBURA

Yes a merino is a type of sheep....you've gotta laugh..but it is a biggie isn't it.

http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pN1mp8 ... Uaek5u8Lcg

http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pN1mp8 ... gBUU7sZK3o

Next was to stop for lunch..we found this great pie shop in town...here's the menu for it's pies.

http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pN1mp8 ... 7TLfMHfZWI

My pie seemed to have it's top missing but it was still good...and coke in a glass bottle..nice.

http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pN1mp8 ... 9Q6NLUVdaI

Guy gets stuck into his...I even went back for seconds...definatly the best pies that I've ever had..and I've had heaps.

Sorry Guy..this pic is too funny to not post it.

http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pN1mp8 ... _7YaxjPz48

We headed north from Goulburn..and found another small section of dirt..well more gravel than dirt.

http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pN1mp8 ... 1c46vJtSto

More cows on the road side.

http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pN1mp8 ... wB4ZO1btt8

We stopped at this roadside pub..and the weather was starting to look nasty.

http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pN1mp8 ... gJ-W3uEhes

http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pN1mp8 ... W1CZTpyhMk

Our next stop was a trip highlight..a town called Bathhurst..and a place called Mt Pamorama.

America has it's holy ground for raceing..the brickyard at Indi..and Bonniville....we have this place...the most famous race trace down under..and home of the Bathurst 1000 each year.

First we stopped in at the track side museum.

http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pN1mp8 ... S1Do6tUrs4

There's a nice old bike at the museum...they used to race bikes here also.

http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pN1mp8 ... fXPkb37UWo

Check out that fish-tail exhaust.

http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pN1mp8 ... XRKUWcN4eA

Now to the track..as famous as this track is..it's public road when there's no race on..so we did a lap..it was starting to rain but that was not going to stop us.

http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pN1mp8 ... u0fU6bCnqs

The starting grid.

http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pN1mp8 ... xtmHVCm8RA

http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pN1mp8 ... Uc7NSEwGFU

Australia's most famous car racer..'Brockie' (Peter Brock) died last month..a great loss...all around the track is thousands of messages to him from fans.

http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pN1mp8 ... F3aO7SWmhk

http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pN1mp8 ... 1hj5PoVQcQ

The others headed for a motel..I went to the camping ground to put up my tent..I stopped at this place in town..the court house I think.

http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pN1mp8 ... scj8DnGdTw

http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pN1mp8 ... eRlMjcCt1c

One last pic for day three...(I'll be back with day four soon)

Gypsy...I figured I had more dirt in my teeth anyway after that dusty ride...grinning all the way....well it did fix my camera.. :D

I'm having a hard time transferring my pics here for some odd reason.

The rest of my ride pictures can be viewed here..just click on the Ride Day and watch the slide show....click here..and then click on 'Photos' on the left.

DJ - love your ride pics and reports!

PS: I'm looking into a longish holiday around Easter time 2009, in Australia and NZ. I will probably be picking your brain sometime in the future on ideas for possibly renting a bike in Sydney and exploring a bit of Oz's west coast by 2 wheels in between surfing ... :)

darcym, if you are going to surf the West Coast, you had better bring your Shark repellant with you.
Been a few lads loose a leg or too lately over there. Sharks are jeleous
types, they dont like people surfing better than them. :D

oops, I meant the East Coast of OZ. I'd love to go to the west coast as well, lots of great surfing out there, but that will have to be another trip. Will probably base in Sydney with possible forays to the Gold Coast and maybe down into Victoria. Late March, early April. Maybe do some caravan/camping. Still a long way off and plenty of pennies to save between now and then. Got to go while I'm still able, though!

Hey DJ, Just wanted to say thanks for posting all these pics up. I've looked at a few of your pics before, seems you know your way round a camera pretty well!

Great for whiling away an otherwise boring afternoon!
