Bar Risers?

Has anyone installed risers on their R1200R yet? Were the cables long enough or did you have to replace anything?
The bars are just about right, but not as comfy as the "touring wellness" bars I had on my R1150R. Should have had the dealer transfer them, but the thought didn't occur to me at the time.

I ordered a set from Moto-Techniques today. Up an inch, back an inch and a quarter. They list them for the 1150R, but some photos I've seen on them on an 1150 it appears that the bars and brackets are the same diameter and shape. I'll let you know when they come in, if they fit.

I pretty sure they will fit. Just concerned about the cables.

My Moto Techniques bar backs came in today. (see my above post) Excellent service. Ordered Monday, on my porch Friday. Moto-techniques.com
As per the directions, I cut the three tie wraps on both the left and right sides to gain the additional slack in the cables. Install went smoothly and only took maybe 45 mins start to finish. The finish and quality of the product is top notch. The finish color is nearly a perfect color match to the bars. There are no cable issues as far as tightness is concerned. Once I had the bar backs installed, I replaced the tie wraps that I had cut.
Took the bike out for a 20 mile test ride. Perfect! At least for me. Ran it up to 80 or so on the highway and everything was just fine. Now I have a slight bend in my arms and even with only the mini-shield at highway speeds, I still have a slightly forward leaning position, but much more comfortable than in the stock position.

DR-Is there a chance you could post the exact part number for Moto Techniques risers for the R12R? I want to make sure I get the one you got. Thanks.

DR: Thanks for the part number. I got the handlebar risers and installed them today. They make quite a difference. I was in such a hurry to try em out I took off and was buzzing down the road at a good clip before I realized the mirrors were out of adjustment and I couldn't see anything behind me. So, a word of caution to others.

Hi All,
Ordered the Moto Techniques bar risers and they were on the door step in 4 days! Excellent service.
My question is: when you install the risers do you get a flush contact between the upper bar mount and the lower bar mount. I installed them today and I have about 1/32 of space between the lower mount and the upper mount. I removed them and reinstalled them about 4 times, but cannot get a flush fit. I ordered the 513-062 set. Am I doing something wrong?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same on my Moto-Techniques and now on my MV Verholen's.
Both of those kits are still for the R1150 and fit ours, but maybe the R1150 bars were a tad thinner.
It concerned me too when I first did it, but now i don't even see it.
On a another note, anybody want to buy my old Moto-Techniques?
I only had them on for 3 weeks when I came across the MV for a killer deal. The MV have exactly the same rise and setback, but I liked the optics better.

Following your post and looking at the MV webshop I ordered some too.
Having had a closer look at the cabling I am getting doubtful:
Did you have any trouble with the cable length (especially the brake line) when mounting the MV risers?

No problems at all. There's still plenty of slack.
If you have an issue with the brake line, let me know as my kit came with a longer brake line that I didn't need.

I ordered the bar risers from MotoTechniques (1" rise; 1 1/4" setback). Install time was about 15 minutes. I did not find it necessary to make any changes to the control or brake cables; I did not even have to cut any zip ties. After 500+ miles, all is still working fine.
