OK. It's 60+ degrees out here, I have two bikes in the garage, and I can't ride either one of them!

The CBR1000RR is waiting for new Sharkskinz bodywork (probably at least another two to three weeks of waiting), cause the bodywork I bought for it on Ebay turned out to fit like crap (Auctmarts... stay away from them), so I had to go through this whole ordeal to return the bodywork, and I lost money on the deal to boot.

The Rockster, which is a salvage bike, is waiting for a left switch assembly (dang, how long does it take to get a switch assembly) so that I can go start the inspection process to get it retitled rebuilt, which will take a month anyway...

I'm dying here... I'm bouncing off the walls... I can't take it any more... I'm binging on Oreos and Milk... I'm reading my service manual just to stay occupied... I might have to get dressed up in my leathers and sit in my recliner... I'm going to have to start watching videos of Paris Hilton... or look at those pantiless shots of Britney Spears again...

Ves, too bad you don't live closer to NJ, my ST has been neglected for over a month as I get better.....it could use a nice wringing out.

This last storm was annoying!!! I was set to put a thousand or so miles on my steeds and then wham! Stupid late winter snow.

I can tell you that I am trying as hard as I can to concentrate on work. I've got motorcycling on the brain! I'm planning to put about 15 - 20k miles of riding under my belt this year.

Yong, I hear ya.....last night I actually sat on my bike in the garage for the first time in over a month. I just wanted to check out seating position, etc to see how it felt with my new titanium neck..so far so good.

I think I will take a drive to Cross Country BMW today or later in the week just to smell some new bikes...(and to check out the K1200R Sport)....heh heh heh.......me likey !

Man am I in the same boat as you all. Been a crappy winter for snow sports. Either no snow (but not cycling weather either) or snow but with temps 10 below zero with the wind chill. Not my idea of fun.

I was looking at the snow bank next to the walk out basement door where my bike hibernates last week, thinking to myself, just a couple more warm and sunny days and I should be able to get her out without dropping it into the snowbank. Not a day later, a fresh foot of snow pretty much put that off a few weeks!!!

I haven't resorted to sitting on the parked bike yet!

Yesterday, I did hit the start button on both mine and the the girlfiend's bike.

I didn't want to get all excited some warm day, put on the saftey gear, push the bike out into the driveway, and have it not run.

NOT LONG NOW!

Ves, I feel for you. I know we had the 60 degree day, just a weekday. I rode to work,(20 miles round trip ) the only ride I have had this season. So buck-up! We will take to the roads, soon?

Know exactly where you're all coming from. Got a 'teaser' from the weather gods a few days ago, went up to 15C... for one freakin' day, then back to -1C.

Wife picks her new bike up on Friday, supposed to be 7C and sunny so good enough for us. Hopefully we'll be able to start getting some miles on soon!

Hmmmm... I'm sure I could figure something out with the way my luck has been going...

I finally got the left combination switch I was waiting for! Wahoooo! I got it installed the other day and I get the bike back together, figure I'll take it for a ride. I start it up.... It starts!!!... and check everything to make sure it works... light, turnsignals, hazards, taillight.... What the... the brake light doesn't work! Ahhhhhh!!!! Front brake... no brake light... rear brake... no brake light.... dissassemble tail... look at bulb... Whew! Filament is broken... need a new bulb... run to parts store... buy new bulb... rush back home... install bulb... Ahhhhhh!!!! still doesn't work... 9:00 pm... call it a night... that's all I need, some sort of electrical problem... fastforward.... today leave work early.... go buy multimeter... not looking forward to this... maybe it's just a fuse... check fuses... nope they're fine... grrrrrrrrrr.... take tank off... take tail off... where to start... disconnect front bake switch... what the... wire colors on connector don't match... hmmmm.... check continuity with switch actuated and not... hmmmm.... works fine... go to tail... check for voltage on tail and brake light... hmmmm... have voltage on brake light when I actuate front or rear brake... bad socket? Yeah... it's a little loose in there, some little tabs are not quite digging in... bend them a bit... assemble... still doesn't work... Ahhhhh!!!! ... Maybe the contacts aren't lining up.... monkey with them... reassemble bulb into socket.... it works!!!! step on brake ... light goes on.... actuate front brake... light goes on... stays on... Ahhhhhh!!!!... hmmmm front brake switch isn't clicking... remove front brake switch cover... remove switch... actuate... it clicks on and off... hmmmm.... put switch back in... watch actuation... hmmmm... have to bend the little tab on the switch to get the brake lever to contact better... do this a few times until I get it right... It works!!!!! Hmmmmm.... what are the odds there was something wrong with the bulb, the bulb socket, and the front brake switch all at once.... hmmmm.... stuck front brake switch caused bulb to burn out?... but how did the socket get loose?... Oh, never mind... I'm done!!!

So, I got the bike put back together, took the plate of my other bike (no, Rockster isn't registered yet) got my helmet, jacket and gloves, and took her for a rid!!!! First ride on the Rockster... !!!!

First impressions...
- Wow how cold is it out here?
- Sounds like a sewing machine.
- Wow it really does not dive when you brake.
- Hmmm... transmission shifts a lot better than my '96 R850R, but going from neutral to first isn't very positive.
- Dang these turn signal controls are going to take time to get use to.
- Hey! It has self canceling turn signals! Lean angle dependent?
- I can lug this thing to 2000 if I want
- Whole different attitude from the CBR. With CBR it's like you have the front wheel in your hands, this is a little more disconnected.
- Thumpa Thumpa... lot more relaxed than the CBR, that's for sure.
- What gear am I in?
- Interesting head light pattern, very sharp cutoff.
- What the... my knee is right into the back of the right side oil cooler cowling... move back in seat? Nope, already back in seat... hmmmmm. Left side seems to have more clearance.
- Hmmmm.. I think these handlebars are going to have to go.. too high and I don't like the angle.
- This huge tank sure does block some wind. Guess that little bikini fairing is doing a pretty good job too.
- Low revs at 50 mph.

Wahooooo !!!! 8 miles... time to call the rebuilder and start the registration process so I can go for a real ride... and get use to these turn signal controls...

Oh.. thanks... It's not bad enough it was almost 80 degrees and sunny out yesterday.... Ok, I see how it's going to be... Well, I hope it rains in the WHOLE country for the next month... NON STOP... (sticking out tongue)
