Rode the R1200R home today in the cold - what a wonderful machine. Can tell right away that I'm going to love this ride. I'm sure there is no possible way to keep it below 4000rpm for 600 miles. Perhaps 98% of the time but it is much smoother and spools up quicker than I expected it to.

Good luck Fly! Yes, what a wonderful machine, huh? Have 250 miles on mine and it is tempting to run it up over 4K, but we must be patient. lol.

Hi!
Got my new R running this thursday too. Revs just exelent, but i also have problem keeping it under 4000 rpm . Dont think it will hurt to drive it a little harder. Bike is nice, nothing to put an finger on so far. 300km so far!

Just rode mine home today. Here's a pic of my old SWB /5 checking out its new stable mate. Same idea just a few generations apart. Maybe I'll call the new bike 'Grandson of /5'.

The covers are a GS part.

Next comes the GS protection plate for under the engine. The Black Paraberllum is on order.

When is Bob's going to update their site to offer parts for the R1200R?
