UK Rockster has to go
I'm selling my Rockster  , I have only managed a few rides this year and in the spring I am moving to British Columbia. I have just listed it in the BUY SELL section of this web site. Thanks to everyone who gave me advice and entertainment on this forum. I hope to get another bike and once I've...

Hi I bought a used rockster (04) with the 1 year BMW warranty. They replaced the forks because of corrosion under warranty while they were prepping the bike for me. Dealer was Cooper Reading. I would ask your dealer to change them, and then if / when they go again, tackle the problem yourself. I thi...

Repaint Heads
I bought a Rockster with a small scratch on one of the heads. I took the heads in today to have them powder coated satin Black, instead of the blue colour. Total cost for both heads £30. I get them back Friday.

R2000C New Model
Just read in MCN, a weekly newspaper type publication in the UK for all types of bikes, that BMW are planning a a 2 litre Boxer engined cruiser. It says they have a range of new cruisers planned to go after the Harley Market. Also planned is a new Superbike, no details, but some sketchy blurred imag...

Thanks for the info, but its temp I need to know. I dont want to do it with some paint which might flake off again. There are engine paints at 160c, 300c and 650c. I could just go for 650c paint, but I think the paint quality (Appearance and durability) at this tempreture is not as good a finish. Th...

I put the deposit down on the 7th Feb 2006, and should pick up the bike this week 12 March. Seems a bit slow, but they have changed the fork legs under warranty. So anyone with a bike in warranty, with corrosion or bubbling paint get down to your dealer, and get them changed. It's the only way BMW m...

Has anyone seen or own a Genuine Black & Silver Rockster
Flicking through the BMW 2005 Range catalogue, there is an official pic of a Matt Black Rockster with silver stripes, oil coolers and silver fork ends & Bridges. It is also fitted with silver headlamp surround and is shown again in the tech specs at the back. I heard a rumour that this model was...

Rockster, Gloss Black or De-stripe + custom paint
Just wondered what people think, and how would painting effect the value. Great bike, but I dont really like the stripes like so many people. Also the matt paint, is not great and is easily damaged. What do people think about repainting? Do people like the stripes? Has anyone removed the stripes, an...

Fork corrosion
I'm in discussion with my dealer on the topic of fork corrosion. I believe that so many people are having this problem, that it is definately a warranty issue. The coatings and finishes used are just not upto the job. I have seen many very well looked after bikes only a year old with less than 5000 ...

Warranty & Corrosion
Hi everyone this is my first post. I have just put down a deposit (BMW Main Dealer) on a Rockster with some quite bad corroision to the fork bridge and ends. The bike is nearly 2 years old, and still under warranty. How likely is it that this will be fixed under warranty? the BMW dealer is not sure ...
