R1200 Headlamp

Does the R1200 have one bulb for low and one for high or is it like the R1150 which has one H4 bulb that has low/high setting?

Re: Xenon HID

I put some Xenons in my 2004 1150R which I purchased from xeonrider. I love the bulbs, but I did have to dill a hole in the housing because the HID bulb is too deep. I wonder if the 1200R is the sa me way.

Wunderlich Sportego Handlebars

I just replaced my stock bars with these and I must say the riding position is much better for me. One caveat with the bars is that they are not drilled for heated grips so you must drill a couple of holes. The bars are a little lower than stock and the pullback isn't as much as stock. I feel this h...

I just replaced the whole fuel pump/plate assembly and it was $346 from Hammersley BMW. BMW doesn't sell the fuel pump as a stand alone item so you have to buy the whole unit.

I damaged my front rim on my 2004 severely. I sent it to Woody's Wheel Works in Denver, CO and they overhauled to new for $150.

They are liked by a bunch of GS guys over at advrider.

You could get the Touratech ones for the 1150GS. They come in silver or black I believe.

Can anyone report how the legroom on the r1200 compares to the r1150? I have a 2004 and I sat on the r1200 at BMW Daytona and it seemed to have the same amount of leg room. However I have not actually taken a ride to do a road comparison.

Ok...gotcha. The primary upper plugs have the coil on plug. The secondary plugs on both sides are wired to one ignition unit located in the bike.

So I guess one set is coil on plug while the other is not.

The BMW part number off of the fiche is one thing. The number stamped on the coils is a different one and this is the number they changed fr...

Another vote for Pilot Roads. I tried the Z6's but the mileage wasn't good for me and the rear wore quite unevenly in the center.

I'm going to try the Continental Road Attacks next time.

Ignition Coils

I just wanted to relate to you my latest maintenance problem/solution. I have a 2004 1150R that has been in service about 2 years and 41,000 miles. Lately the bike has had a slight miss at idle and I noticed a failure in the powerband above 5,000 rpms. I replaced both of the primary ignition coils a...
