Looks like something from the eighties, not the good eighties (Katana, GPz900R) but the BMW eighties. Ugly as hell in oppinion.

But what ever works for you man.

Re: License plate bracket - WHAT IS UP WITH THAT? - have to

Got my license plate yesterday from the dealer. Put the plate on using the provided wing nuts and reflector bolts. Holy cow!!! Who designed that bracket? No chance of me popping that plate on and off to park in NYC... Why wasn't the license plate mounted when you bought the bike? Or...

I have a chromed can (soon gonna replace it with a BOS Oval). I keep it clean with car wash and use white spirit to get the asphalt stains of, then I polish it with a product called Autosol. Works great for me, but I don't know what kind of crud you've been driving in.

Oil

For some reason the oil level has decreased in my bike. I've only done about 4500 km (2800 miles) and did the first service at 1200 km. This is my first four stroke bike so I don't know if this is normal or not. Is there something wrong with my bike? (It still runs like it should, no bad noise. No w...

I sing to myself as I ride. I can't remember today's song. It ranges from Metallica, and Rage against the Machine, to Loretta Lynn, and Christmas carols. I sing too, or whistle when I don't have snus. I never stop surprising myself. The other day I found myself humming the soundtrack from M...

The fairings look really old and the home page has got to be the worst I've seen in ten years. However I like the eighties bikes. But it has to be a classic. Like the Suzuki Katana. This is just awfull. If you want a bike with fairings why not buy a proper sportsbike? Or at least an R1200S. I know I...

davevagts wrote:Does anyone know the thread size for the mirrors on the R1200R? It's it 10mm?

Or how I could figure it out?

Thanks,
Dave Vagt
The thread size for the mirrors is M6. I have no idea what that is in inches. Why? Did you break yours?

AC Schnitzer

I'm thinking of getting the AC Schnitzer bellypan and silencer. Check it out here: http://www.ac-schnitzer.de/en/bmw-motorcycles/products/r-1200-series/r-1200-r/general-info/ Does anyone know if the bellypan is painted? If so, what colours are available? http://www.ac-schnitzer.de/typo3temp/pics/d65...

I like the look of that fairing. Makes it look like a late seventies sportsbike. But I'd like some more pics and I'm fearing the price tag.
