:D 600 miles that took 2 days, now I ride it like I stole it, dealers orders. :) 5K is really smooth and the gas mileage is not bad at all. 50K on the 2007 GS and doesn't use a drop of oil between changes. 65K on the previous GS it never used any oil and ran strong. Only have about 6K on the 2012 R1...

Howdy from Texas, Welcome Yes, I have had to have the fuel strip replaced and something funky about when I roll off the throttle and it back firing that they said they fixed but it started doing it again and that is in the first 1500 miles. Had nothing but problems with a K1200GT, sold it for the R1...

2007 R1200GS - 55K no failure, don't know of any personally 2005 K1200GT - 31K no rear drive failure, but many other things failed, including the read drive seals twice. 2002 K1200LT - 45K no rear drive failure, however there were numerous ones in the BMWLT.com group, I have only seen 4 personally, ...

1) If it is oil burning smell, that could be oil spilled during the service.
2) It has a dry clutch, so you will smell that sometimes, like the smell of hot brakes.
