R1200R to R1100R?
Ok I've got a qstn and I'd love to hear ya'lls genuine thoughts. I bought a R1200R a few months ago and I LOVE IT: http://picasaweb.google.com/tlovejr/R1200rWModsAsOfJuly2008 My problem is that before I could even reach the 600 mile service, I was downsized from my job (yay economy). I've been out o...

Re: Remus Hexacone
Also, I rode the bike last night after posting and had a few more thoughts on my review for the Hexacone: [*]On the highway it is still very quiet. Its noticeable, but in a good way. Not obnoxious or overpowering at all. [*]You can hear the most sound on city roads in 1st - 3rd. [*]One of my favorit...

Re: Remus Hexacone
In regards to the windshield, and any other mods, here is what I have done: * 2008 R1200R, Black w/ OEM retro stripes * System cases, w/ custom retro striping to match the factory stripes * Black-outs on the blue part of the roundels (HUGE visual improvement on a black bike) * Remus headers (sans ca...

Re: Newbie Introduction plus a couple of questions
One thing I find interesting about this bike - and probably all other boxers - and I have not seen any comments on it anywhere - is that it's quite a 'snatchy' ride. It will probably take time to get used to the boxer after a smooth inline-four, but having ridden it a few times since I had it, I'm ...

Re: Remus Hexacone
(Bringing this thread back to life....) Ive recently gotten my full system installed: Remus header, connector pipe and Hexacone muffler. Here are some thoughts: With the baffle in, its not as loud as I would have expected. It sounds nice, and DEFINITELY better than stock (IMHO) . However it still do...

In both my automotive life, and now in my motorcycle life I try to blend 3 concepts: performance, utility, and style (retro). Obviously, the best choice for meeting such a goal is BMW!! :-) As such, I've been a Bimmer driver for almost a decade, and have now purchased my first Beemer. 8) When I got ...

Help me sort out exhaust options, pls pls
Hola everyone! I picked up my bike on Saturday but have hardly ridden it yet due to the passing rainstorms in Atl. So I'm spending my time instead researching exhaust options. I just cant live with the sewing machine note. I've done searches, both here and on the generic 'net but have come up with o...

Re: Remus Hexacone
ziobato where did you get the black head covers for your bike? Did you have them custom done or is there a way to purchase them already done? I'd like to "black out" as much of the chrome/silver on my bike as possible. I'm going to heat wrap the headers and exhaust first and then I'd love ...

Re: K12R Mirrors on my R
Thanks Erik for the original post. I took the info to my dealer this weekend when I was taking delivery of my bike and he gave me a straight up swap for my mirrors with the K mirrors. They will be in in a week -I cant wait to get them! NCGS - Thanks for the offer but I actually just turned down that...

Re: K12R Mirrors on my R
Off topic, but.... ErikM - what kind of screen do you have? Whats your recommendation? Does it keep wind off your chest and out from under your helmet at 75mph+ NCGS - Same qstn? I see its Ztechnick, but what size did you choose? How are the growing pains working out for you? Thx guys, just got my b...

Re: funny spoof on BMW
AWESOME! Do we know who made it? It's interesting that they chose a Honda VFR (ie. Magna). Honda stopped making that bike several years ago and has no firm plans to reintroduce it. Thus, it would be weird for this to be a marketing campaign from Honda, unless its several years old. And yes the VFR d...

Re: New member hates you all....
Oh yes, last bit of info about me: I'm almost a 10 yr rider, have taken all the MSF classes more than once, have tamed the Dragon, and have owned the following bikes (in descending order): '05 Yamaha FZ1 '94 Honda Magna VF750 '02(ish) Suzuki Bandit 1200 '01 Honda Magna VF750 '99 Honda CBR 600F4 '94(...

New member hates you all....
Hahaha not really, of course. But those who posted to the R115R vs R1200R thread are a bunch of bastages as it convinced me to NOT buy the R1150R and plop down an additional $10k for the brand-spankin-new R1200R..... :-) So this will be the worst week of my life as I can only sit around and wait and...
