The gearboxes get better with mileage, as do the clutches. But you know this. We'd all like a comparison between the R1150R & the 1200, in any way/shape/form.
Thanks & congrats.

Them's some Euro-lookin' switches & plugs on the wall, and that's some Teutonic architecture in the background. My $1 says Germany, behind some dealer (or lucky new owner's casa). The black bike has a typical HUGE Euro license plate on it, too. One quick giveaway is the reflectors (or lack there...

steering damper.

Dunno why it needs it, but apparently, BMW thinks it does.
I've seen a few R1100Rs with them, but exactly zero 1150s with them installed.
Maybe the steering head angle is steeper (quicker steering), or something unforeseen in the new telelever.....

This site has a lot of the same sentiments (from R1100R owners) when the R1150R first hit the web, too. I think they'll sell more 1200s than 1150s, regardless of $$.

I like it. I like the 1150, but I like the 1200 for what it is, not what it looks like - but that's just me.

Look for shadows...... there are none. Also, the lines at the edges of the bike are aliased to the background. If it's the thought that counts, this is a good one.

Go to http://www.youtube.com and post it - you may have to "join", but it's free. Then, post the link here.

OR.... email me the video, and I'll post it. I'm on DSL, so 11meg won't take long.

Lane splitting - bad. You Kalifornicators are lucky (in a way) that motorcycles are ridden 12mos of the year - drivers are used to seeing MCs all the time. This is not so nearly everywhere else. This would make lane-splitting a VERY risky exercise. I wouldn't do it even if it were legal - it justs p...

The shape of the tank looks similar to the 1150 but are my eyes that bad or are the "scoops" gone? And where did the coolers move? Look low & behind the front wheel. Giant, 1 piece oil cooler. The tank is probably bigger (in capacity) and hopefully, more narrow at the seat junction. N...

Love the big, droopy (MV Brutale) headlight. Notice the light colored version has the tall or comfort seat, compared to the darker one. One piece seat, too! Ugliest, tallest, most boring looking mirrors YET! Get some Ducati or KTM mirrors if you get one of these. What these pics don't show is the ex...

DJ's pic is still a photoshop job, the forks are wrong & the tank is kinda blurry - the other thread has the official, but fuzzy, pics.

Ok, good start. Now, take off that silly front fender/light abstraction, and create a small sport (fly) screen based around the ST headlight (BRIGHT!), and put the ST engine in it...... make ABS optional AND switchable. Add Ohlins as an option, and you've got a Roadster. Hypermotard is not a real ca...

I rest when I'm dead. If I can't ride a MC, it means I can't ride a bicycle, which probably means I can't walk so well. I guess I'll become a dirty old man and just READ about riding (and all the other stuff I won't be able to do anymore). Not looking forward to that.

Yep the front does both and the back only the back.
Only true if you have ABS/Servo brakes - which Harry doesn't have.

Now you've done it - just by SAYING that.... If you have good luck - touch wood. I've been stranded once (and that's once too many), and that's why the Ride On stuff lives in the tires. Maybe they've improved the Slime to the point where Riceburner says, but my initial experience with it was that it...

Feel lucky. Maybe if you rode it directly after installing it, it distributed evenly (albeit MUCH heavier).

Just wait until you have your tire changed. Yuck.
