Interstingly enough...our local service guy uses mercury sticks. he tested them against a Twin maxes and found the mecury sticks more accurate! I was bit scpetical at first but he has improved a few peoples bikes who previously used a twinmax?

Select R1150R/Ro and the production date to the right.

Click "Gearbox", it's the sixth diagram.
Excellent, thank you.

Headlamp bulb upgrade.

The headlights on my Rockster are about as much use as a candle. So rather than bolt 2 thousand after market lights on, I thought I'd try upgrading the bulbs. So, a set of the highly acclaimed Osram Silverstar 50% brighter bulbs was duly purchased. I've just been outside and fitted them. I ca...

Did you stick the Techlusion on at the same time as changing to the Remus setup?? IE can you for sure say that the change is from the Techlusion, and not from the removal of the Catalytic converter and OE can? Because just that change makes a fair difference. Hi Mate No, my bike came with the Remus...

I took it all off and eventually got the loctited or was it alloy welded in bolt out :x The inner bolt showed signs of wear-ish? I rubbed it down and buffed it up with 1200 grade paper. Which seemed to help it fit in and out a bit better. I polished up the sleeve bushes with a wooden handle and put ...

I had a similar problem last winter on my previous Beemer (a standard R1150R). When changing down the gear lever refused to spring back up to the central position so without hooking my foot under it I couldn't get it into position ready for the next change down. Had to remove the lever and clean th...

Hello, I have never attended this board before even though I read it daily. Exactly the same thing that you describe has happened to me as well. I talked a BMW mechanic about the problem and he told med that it is completely normal. If I understood him right it has to do with the construction of th...

Stuck in 3rd gear?

Hi All Had a weird experiance on my Rockster tonight. I was riding home in traffic as I slowed for a red light the bike wouldn't change down through the gearbox. It was stuck in 3rd? As luck would have it the lights changed so I was able to keep going. I tried changing up and it went up the box ok a...

Techlusion R259 on the Rockster.

Hi All I'm trying to see of there are any common settings for these bikes when fitted with a Techlusion R259. I know there are a lot of variables at play here, but wondered if any common denominators would show up? My settings are G .6 Y 1.2 R 1.0 C 4.0 My bike is a 03 Rockster with a Pipercross air...

If the PC isn't available, have you thought about a Techlusion? I know you cant remap, but it may get round your lean fuelling?

Whats the consensus of opinion on Techlusions over there?

I bought a set of 4 from ebay for £10.50. The two smaller ones fit the GS headlights. :) They stick on the outside but its hardly even noticable. Plugged the wires in where the sidelight bulb went and glued the light itself on with bostik clear adhesive. Took about 15 minutes and is reversible in...

You could check with the tyre manufacturer and see if the 170 is suitable for the Rocksters wheel width. Some people do fit narrower tyres on bikes for a quicker turn in. Whilst others fit fatter tyres for aesthetic resons. But, the tyre manufacture normally constructs a tyre to fit a certain wheel ...

Re: Ditched the Remus and put the standard can back on.

I got T boned by someone jumping a red light recently. So I now have to have my bike inspected by an insurance assessor. To make sure its deemed road legal I took the Remus Revolution end can off and put the standard can back on. I left the Y piece on though. I'm quite suprised to say that it feels...

I have a shoei synchrotec. Dont like it much to be honest. Noisy, dreadful peripheral vision, noisy and I hate the seat belt chin strap release system. My first and probably my last Shoei. More of a heads up than a recommendation, IYSWIM?
