Re: Recommend Me a Helmet!

Thank you everyone, I plan to visit the Motorcycle Live Show next month here in the UK (Birmingham) and try a few of your suggestions for size. Helmet sizes are easier to sort than how much noise you're going to get when your'e on the bike, I think. I have custom-fit earplugs, which is probably the ...

Recommend Me a Helmet!

Hi everyone, I would like to ask what kinds of helmets you find useful when riding the R1200R with the small BMW sportshield. I am 5'7" and currently have an Arai Quantum but too noisy! Usually I use earplugs, but problem is that they push any stuff in my ears further down and need visits to do...

Re: Another Proud Owner

Hello Carol, nice to have another lady owner who isn't afraid to spend her hard-earned cash on such a cool bike  You can see mine complete with Givi G46 topcase on the Givi Topcase Question thread earlier on this forum. I would not have saved loads of money if it wasn't for the helpful guys...

Re: Givi V46 Topcase Question

At last, here is an update on how I have managed to sort out this arrangement of luggage =D> I have gone for the Givi V46 topcase which is attached to my bike using the Givi arms & mounting plate. It makes the bike look a bit wider from behind, which can be a good thing, and handling doesn't see...

Re: Givi V46 Topcase Question

Thank you, guys - whatever would we do without our computers?? ;) I think I have everything arranged now. Once I have sorted & fixed the necessary items, I will come back and let you know what I did (don't want to spoil it now, just be patient please!) :) :)

Congrats on the fresh new look :D I am just trying to get used to the avatars being on the opposite side of the screen, but I will get used to it! I also like the pics on the home screen - good to see what other folks ride. Keep up the good work :smt060

Givi V46 Topcase Question

I am attempting to purchase this for my 1200R, but confusion about which "bits" I have to also buy in order to attach it to the bike. At the moment, I have the naked bike. I don't want the BMW topcase because of the small capcity, and I haven't any plans to have the BMW panniers. The BMW d...

Hello Eisen, congratulations on the new bike :D In the UK the roads are too salty at the moment for riding my new R12, and I've had it since early December  Anyway, planning to have 3 days at Scottish Borders over Easter and get it run in so I need some luggage..... Is that the genuine BMW top ...

Hello Jouke, it's good to hear about your decision to go for the R12 - I am also a lady rider, and bought mine on 7th December! I had an R1150R but found it heavy, but I wasn't confident with the servo assisted brakes. I too tried the F800ST, lovely fun but I also found it rather light after the pre...

I've Ordered Mine!

Yesterday I was due to collect my new bike, despite the awful wind & rain we have been having (typical when you have plans  ) I managed to make the journey home safely as the rain held off, but the gusts of wind & lunchtime Friday traffic tested me and the bike out!! I have to say that...

Mmmmmm, you look happy :D
Does your lady also ride your bikes, or does she prefer to concentrate on the scenery as you do the riding? Will she get the biking bug from your cool R? 8)
I am looking forward to getting my black R very soon, and I would like to know how you find the low seat on yours.

When you get the list of bike models on the left of the screen, look on the right. There's a link for you to click on for R1200R; this takes you to a downloadable file. Have lots of paper & ink in your printer!

Hi Skippy, I haven't tried the bike without the screen; maybe next summer that will be a project. The BMW dealer would not be moved on price or p/ex (but I did get what I was expecting). He did suggest taking BMs insurance & I would be "given" the BM alarm, but no thanks, I have a quot...

I'm another who came (for a test ride), saw (the bike looks the business) and conquered (the tough decision to part with my cash) :D :D Here in the UK there are a limited number of 12Rs being produced, so we have to make up our minds. I haven't heard of the production stopping :o I reckon you will b...

This happened on my bike early this year. The light would reset and go out if I pulled up and swithched the engine off. Then I could ride for several miles before it would start flashing again. Sometimes it would only stay off for 2 miles... :( Took it to dealer - poorly bike, I must not ride it. Th...

I Have Ordered Mine

:D :D I have just been to order my new black one! I tried the demo bike and did not want to ride my R1150R home (those brakes are soooo much better on the 1200!!) I have chosen the low seat - lady rider's privilege - ,heated grips, sport screen, centre stand, computer & white indicators - well, th...

R1150R vs. F800ST

I would value your opinions please - should I change my 1150R for an F800ST? :? I've had the R for 2 years now, and have to say that the only things I don't like are the weight (when I have to "pedal" it around to park etc) and the servo-brakes. It's also 6 years old, but low mileage and g...

Can you tell me which village had that wonderful display of outside loos?
Thanks

I have been looking at the website for these people. They seem to have some decent looking jackets at an equally decent sort of price. I was wondering, as they are a USA company, do any of you guys have their products, or have you heard of how good they are? Thanks in advance for any info. or even p...

I like both of your bikes - because I had a red K75s for 8 years, then a "mandarin" R1100S for 4 years. You've guessed it - I changed that for my black R1150R which I've had for the last 18 months! :D :D 8) I agree also with your choice of camping spots. You seemed to have the best plot! :D
