I have just been to order my new black one!
I tried the demo bike and did not want to ride my R1150R home (those brakes are soooo much better on the 1200!!)
I have chosen the low seat - lady rider's privilege - ,heated grips, sport screen,centre stand,computer & white indicators - well, these were the options on the model in stock in UK because I wanted a black one!
I'm planning to purchase a Pacsafe rear tail pack because it can be locked to the bike. Anyone use one of these - opinions gratefully received.

Congrats with your great new bike. Do you have to wait long for it cause if you do it are going to be some long weeks. The spec and colour sounds just like my bike I only have the BMW alarm extra compared to yours. Did you only try the bike with a screen? I also have the sports screen but prefer to ride without as it is quiter and a lot cooler on warmer days. In the winter I put the screen back up again.
I'm not familiar with the pacsafe bag but have seen them on NippyNormans site. I think due to the lock they atract maybe more atention when unatended and prefer the SW motech quicklock tankbag that I have(or similar tankbags) that goes of and on very simple and also easy to carry around and it is in sight all the time witch might be handy at traffic lights nowadays.

I haven't tried the bike without the screen; maybe next summer that will be a project. The BMW dealer would not be moved on price or p/ex (but I did get what I was expecting). He did suggest taking BMs insurance & I would be "given" the BM alarm, but no thanks, I have a quote much better even without Thatcham category 1 alarm. The dealer then said I could have a "free" BM alarm or a free 1st service. So I chose the alarm.
Getting excited about the bike - but not about having to change my personal reg plate (a very fussy process in UK!!)

Well at least you get to have a personal reg plate(not possible over here). The bmw alarm over here ment that I could get very cheap and good insurance and that I only have to lock the bike and arm the alarm to be fully covered something no other insurance offers over here all involve locks and most of the time locks that have to be secured to the world(as insurance guys call it). The alarm works great by the way and I had it said to automaticly arm so I can never forget.
It only takes two bolts to remove the screen an bracket completely so very easy to try out and I think you are going to like it.
Yesterday I was due to collect my new bike, despite the awful wind & rain we have been having (typical when you have plans )
I managed to make the journey home safely as the rain held off, but the gusts of wind & lunchtime Friday traffic tested me and the bike out!!
I have to say that the brakes are much more inspiring than the servo ones, as I felt more confident stopping in the queues of traffic and holding against the wind than I ever did on the 1150R. Anyway, I am definitely in love I have taken some pics but please be patient as this posting of pics on these forums is new to me, and I am just finding out what to do.
