System case capacity (max lbs/kg?)
Rather than force anything, I am curious if a full face helmet should fit in a side case? I know it fits in a topcase/trunk, not sure about sidecases?
Also, how safe/or unsafe is it to ride with one case? How about weight limit, what are some of the heavier things people have carried in there?
Clothes obviosly dont weigh a whole lot but what if you had a few bottles of wine or many beer in bottles, is that kind of weight a problem?
I think a max payload may be posted somewhere on the case.

Re: System case capacity (max lbs/kg?)
My Shoei fits in the cases. I've stuffed quite a bit of crap in them on long trips. I think the most was around 25 pounds each. No problems yet.8b wrote:Rather than force anything, I am curious if a full face helmet should fit in a side case? I know it fits in a topcase/trunk, not sure about sidecases?

Cheers!
cap is 10 kg
I just looked, it is 10 KG if my memory is good for I checked 5 minutes ago. That is my short term memory capacity, 5 minutes
I couldn't get a full face in there, seemed to tight, I'd be curious if anyone eles besides Chi-Town fits a full face helmet in there?

RE: System case capacity
I've only had my bike for a couple of weeks. Lovin' it so far though.
My Shoei RF1000 fits in the system case, no problem- fills most of the width of the case, but there's room for more stuff in there.
8b's memory is correct- 10kg/22lbs is the capacity according to the rider's manual.
As for riding with one case, or loading two cases unequally, you're on your own with that one- manual suggests loading cases equally, so I would infer that this would include mounting both cases as the recommended practice. That said- if you experiment and survive, please share your results with us.
Manual says don't go over 112 m.p.h. with the top case mounted, but says nothing about the side cases- I guess they don't affect stability as much.

What kind of helmet 8b?
Over 120 mph with the side bags on you get a slowly oscillating wobble, like you can feel the cases pulling.... anything under that is stable, of course this testing was done on a closed course (Nevada) since I don't condone excessive speeding on public highways...
helmet type to fit in side case...
Arai Quantum/f, Arai Corsair RX-7, and an OLD Shoe RF-800. How much do full face helmets vary in size, and is it that tight a fit that some will fitr inside and others wont?

I'm not sure, I only have done it with my Shoei, and a friends Nolan flip-up.8b wrote:Arai Quantum/f, Arai Corsair RX-7, and an OLD Shoe RF-800. How much do full face helmets vary in size, and is it that tight a fit that some will fitr inside and others wont?
I'm putting mine in with the screen facing forward, like it would be while riding. It doesn't fit if I have the neck-hole facing out.
Maybe Arai's are larger, or shaped in a way that doesn't work...
Maybe you will have to get a Shoei.

Schuberth Concept (1 or 2) in jumbo (XXL) fits fine in either side.8b wrote:Arai Quantum/f, Arai Corsair RX-7, and an OLD Shoe RF-800. How much do full face helmets vary in size, and is it that tight a fit that some will fitr inside and others wont?
