Arrrrrrgh.

Post by Airshaft »

Ok, Just had to do it. I'm frustrated and going nuts. I've had enough of this f%$# cold and snow.

It doesn't help working in the shop and looking at bikes all day. I sell all Euro stuff. If anyone ever needs any sort of information, I'll do my best to help.

Here's a link to Blackfoot if anyone's interested. Comming in here's like going to a bike show.

Hopefiully this will be my last winter here as I plan on hanging out down south from now on. Can't stand putting up my bikes for 6 months any more and miss the sun and ocean dearly.

Wow! I went to Blackfoot's site and it looks like the 2008 R1200R has the exhaust pipe on the right side instead of the left. Wow!

Mark, You should have looked further. It has one on each side, as it's on the right in the small preview pic and on the left once you click on it. A clear indication that I'll have twice the HP than before :D
Double-Wow.

Sorry, couldn't resist. :P

Actualy that's weird, never noticed it before. I'll have to look into it and confirm what changes have been made for 08. I was under the impression that there ware none.
We don't have any 08's in stock nor will we be getting any. Powers to be decided since we only sold 2 out of four last year (one of the two to me) that they would not order any 08's.
It is a real shame that people just don't seem to be interested. Since I started working there last Jun I'v been pushing this bike like nothing else and still haven't been sucessfull in selling one. I think people refuse to belive that it works as well as it does.
Just read in Bike magazine an article where they say that it's much better than the GS unless you do more than just a gravel road. Lot of us could have told them that long ago  .

The sales problem sounds a lot like the situation in HD dealerships; They love to sell anything HD and nothing Buell because most sales weenies do not have the foggiest idea how to sell them or understand what they are. :(

I can’t agree with you on that one in our situation. We sell multiple lines and specialize in Euro bikes. For most part our staff is pretty informed and we try to provide the proper bike for the customers needs as much as possible, to those that are not 100% sure what they want, that is.

I think the biggest stumbling block for this bike is the lack of decent fearing because in most peoples views it does not appear to be good in elements and also to them it lacks substance for the amount of money. From all responses this is what I gather. I’ve been trying to talk the manager into designating one of the R12R’s into a demo, because we all know what happens when you test ride one  .

I’m a rider first and sales man second so in a way I don’t mind that the bike is still one of the best kept secrets so when I carve around sport bikes on a very twisty road I can leave them scratching their heads.

I think the really big story is that the new R1200R seems not to have a swingarm or driveshaft on either side. Must be the new BMW rim-drive.

Ultra-WOW!
