So you guys all want to convince me that you, before you take off, decide whether you are going to ride with or without the screen, grab your tool set and take the screen off or put it on ..... yeah, of course
And how the hell do you do that when your on a several days trip: where do you leave the screen ?
Panniers I can understand, although I hate the looks on the Rock, that's why I choose for some sportier looking saddle-bags.
But if you fell in love with the Rock because off it's agressive, streetfighter-like looks (like I did), I still don't understand the assembly of those (mostly rather big) screens.
And for your information; the Netherlands aren't exactly well known for their warm climate  (and since I don't have a car, I ride it whole year round).

I agree, a Rock with a huge windscreen looks just bad.....

if you want to ride an RT, buy an RT......
because I needed room for more stickers.

Seriously though doesn't it just look kinda like an 1150 GS but a bit lower when it's loaded up? Wasn't there one with a zebra paint job? I'm trying to turn mine into that one

I got the touring screen and handguards because my shoulders, armpits and hands were cold. Even with gerbings Doing 80MPH until gas stop was getting to me, they way I looked at it was it was to help the heated grips and gerbings do their job. The touring screen is only 4 screws to take off....it just takes a minute (leaving the mounts on though).

I got my cases when i bought it new since i was getting the rails and luggage rack but didn't use them much until I put city lids on them. They don't come off much now. They saved my bike once too when I stalled trying to take off in the cold... got a scuffed lid and cracked engine guard but everything else is OK... I'm thinking of getting the metal engine guard now...

I test rode a 1200 RT before spending too much on the wind protection or guard stuff.. I liked my bike more after...

Personally not for me, it's a seasonal thing. As soon as the first week of mornings goes over 40F, off comes the plastic. And it stays off until October or November. Just need that little extra help in the winter.
