New helmet care question

I recently purchased a new helmet, and being the way I am, I want to take care of it.

I asked my wife to pick me up some wax to give it a good once over and she picked this up Meguiars Cleaner-Wax-Paste...

Being that its a cleaner wax, and not a traditional wax, should I worry about it possibly damaging my brand new, never used helmet?

I wouldn't put anything on mine at all, clean with baby-wipes (they're brilliant for most things...)

I regularly wax my helmet although a cleaner wax is probably not the best product to use on a new surface since it really doesn't need cleaning, has no oxidized paint and so on. There are many basic auto waxes out there that would do the trick and probably make you feel better about using it on a new helmet.
The good coat of wax will help in getting the inevitable bugs off the helmet and since the helmet will be slippery you might even get better fuel milage!

Save the cleaner wax for when the bike is old and has faded paint!

Try furniture polish spray products like Pledge or Favor. They do a great job of cleaning bug debris from face shields and the rest of the helmet. When on a trip, I carry a pack of their wipes and use one when I stop for gas or food. They're great for cleaning off your windshield, too.
